My favourite partition manager, highly recommended. Competition like Partition Magic and others is often very picky about non-standard partitions but PPM handles them well.

Lol, I want to see you working without partitions… Installing Windows might be a problem without one.
But, of course, to create one large partition on a HD you don’t need a Partition Manager.

FOSI’s been around for ages!! I remember the first time I ran into that site around 1998. That site is sure a relic from a long gone era. But it’s cool to see it still there.

we are talking about working without a partition manager, not without a partition ffs

crimson, #13, says: “we are talking about working without a partition manager”

=> You do NOT need to buy or pirate Partition Manager. The opensource community has built tools and distros that help you partition your HDD without spending a dime.

    See here.
    http://gparted.sourceforge.net/

There’s two versions. A LiveCD (where you boot via CD and runs on RAM, doesn’t install anything) OR LiveUSB (boot from USB and does the same thing).

They allow you to handle both Windows (FAT/FAT32/NTFS) and Linux filesystems (ext2/ext3/reiserfs)

I guess that’s the biggest difference between the Windows World and the Opensource World. In the Windows World, you have pirate just to do anything useful.

Actually, with a little preparation, you can setup up the partitions during the installation of Windows.

Just select to install Windows on the first. Then install other OS or whatever on the other partitions later on.

I’ve done stuff like this countless of times, and I’ve never used Partition Manager.

Wehe… FOSI rules! I’ve been using his/her software since the late 90’s.

did you guys/girls ever read the FAQ’s page on FOSI?:

    Q: I downloaded [...] program from your page,how do I?..
A: Do you think I’m ‘tech support’ or what?

Q: This FAQ did not solved my problem, what shold I do?
    A: Visit your psychiatrist.

Some of you are so clueless.

As crimson tried to say (but was misunderstood), even if your hard drive has only 1 partition, it still has a partition. He was saying that without creating a partition (Windows installer will do this, of course), you couldn’t install Windows.

Furthermore, the usefulness of Partition Manager comes from their ability to resize existing volumes (moving files and file system structures around to free space at the end of t he drive), not in merely creating partitions (hell, every system will come with some sort of tool for that).

    @tubleweed32

Some of us like to be able to change things without running a Windows^{TM} installer and having to reinstall all our programmes subsequently, so just bend over and take it like the whiney little female dog you obviously wish to portray yourself as.

Just back off. No point in suggesting anything useful to these people. They weren’t raised with logic…Just weird sexual fantasies.

    March 19th, 2007 | 17:26

well I have read most comments and now I am sure there are more morons than users. I wish I could duel boot, I just dual boot when I can. Fosi may be a male or female but he or she does good work. I have 2 hd also one 250 and the other 300 gig both sata. they are partitioned with more than one partition. also partiton manager allows for backup of entire system but I guess most morons dont do it. keep up the good work and ignore moronic comments
