Pans Labyrinth SUBBED PROPER DVDSCR XViD-HLS

Pretty interesting movie that allready reached IMDB’s top 250 in the #89 place with a 8.5! It’s a spanish spoken movie that includes hard english subtitles. The movie is also known as “Laberinto del Fauno, El”. Review of this release gives the quality and the audio a 10! Hope you all enjoy!

Award-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro delivers a unique, richly imagined epic with PAN’S LABYRINTH, a gothic fairy tale set against the postwar repression of Franco’s Spain. Del Toro’s sixth and most ambitious film, PAN’S LABYRINTH combines the historic and moral themes of his acclaimed Spanish Civil War ghost story THE DEVIL’S BACKBONE with the protean visual creativity and gripping dynamics of such previous films as HELLBOY and BLADE II. Harnessing the formal characteristics of classic folklore to a 20th Century landscape, del Toro delivers a timeless tale of good and evil, bravery and sacrifice, love and loss.

PAN’S LABYRINTH unfolds through the eyes of Ofelia, a dreamy little girl who is uprooted to a rural military outpost commanded by her new stepfather. Powerless and lonely in a place of unfathomable cruelty, Ofelia lives out her own dark fable as she confronts monsters both otherworldly and human. As Ofelia, the gifted young Spanish actress Ivana Baquero holds the screen with a remarkable combination of innocence and maturity, vulnerability and strength. Baquero is joined by a superb cast that includes international stars Sergí Lopez (DIRTY PRETTY THINGS), Maribel Verdú (Y TU MAMÁ TAMBIÉN) and Ariadna Gil (BELLE ÉPOQUE), as well as frequent del Toro collaborator Doug Jones (HELLBOY).

I just heard this good interview on NPR’s Fresh Air with the director of Pan’s Labyrinth, Guillermo Del Toro. Check it out if you also loved the film or if you want to hear about his new projects such as Hellboy II and Tarzan.

Fresh Air from WHYY, January 24, 2007 · Director Guillermo del Toro’s film, Pan’s Labyrinth, is up for six Academy Awards this year, in categories including original screenplay and foreign language film. Del Toro, who grew up in Mexico, wrote and directed the film.

TripleT, nonono, “Pam’s Labyrinth” is nothing like “Chronicles of Narnia”. It’s more like “Shrek” or “Terminator II”, depending how much more LSD you are willing to take…

  19. January 27th, 2007 | 17:22

    lol @ skrek
Hey im curious, this came out quite a while ago yea? so why dont we have like a DVDrip by now? I dont think i quite get how the system works?!
Oh and i sure how it will be released with a dubbed version.
I wish aXXo had a phone number, i’d be like *tring tring* “Axxo here, how can we help you?”, “yes i’d like to order a large Pans Labyrinth with fries and a coke please”.
    Peace out!

Why would you want a dubbed version?!

It’s not like you can’t read… I’d much rather hear the original voice acting of the actors ON SCREEN and have to read subtitles…not some white guys sitting in a studio watching the movie and talking over it with rough translations.

    - anyway.. that aside… I saw this in the theaters and it’s a must see.

I’m shocked at all these people asking for an English audio version. Come on, people. There are many great films that are relased each year that are NOT in english. Learn to read subtitles. Sheesh.

    January 27th, 2007 | 22:37

What a good movie. I didn’t know if to cry or be happy at the end, but I drop a tear, I couldn’t help it.
Are the subtitles hard encoded? because a clean video with a SRT file would be better. Anyway, worth to see.

    January 27th, 2007 | 22:58

The english version isn’t bubbed complete right. Anyway when it’s dubbed, you really dont’ get the exact translation…. something is lost in translation (oh they did make a movie of that didn’t they….). Del Torro is an exciting director with imagination and has something to say. The movie just takes place during the Spanish civil war but it’s about abuse and how a child’s imagination jumps in to protect her from the horrors of reallity.

Excellent quality and been waiting for this release. Much thanks!! I agree that this movie is not for kids as I have skipped through some scenes and there is one where a guy gets his face beat in with a bottle, pretty graphic!! I will not allow my 10 yr old to watch this film but I can’t wait to see it. Thanx guys!!

I am an idiot. I just posted on the Smokin’ Aces post about how this hasn’t been posted about yet and was all disappointed.. I’m glad you guys are on the ball. Guillermo Del Toro really blew me away on this one, it’s not the usual foreign film low-budget indie crap. This movie is visual feast. Some scenes are very graphic, yes, but they are so well done, you wouldn’t think of a foreign movie having such top notch effects. Not even that but the story and characters and the way the whole movie flows, it’s just excellent. I would recommend it to anyone in an instant. Instant classic. Should be seen by everybody.

Atti2ude, why would you think an r rated movie regarding Post-war Fascist repression(Rated R for graphic violence and some language.) would be suitable for your 10 year old at all?
surely you didn’t need to skim through it to reach the conclusion that it might not be suitable

  34. January 28th, 2007 | 10:04

    Oh comeon, muppets!? :(

The only other movie ive ever seen dubbed was Live Is Beautiful, ive seen it oh so many times, and then the last time i saw it with subs, and i couldnt think of anything lost in translation. Never the less if u say it aint the same, then fine, i guess id side more with subs. But u see, my eyesight aint 10/10 :P so i kinda have to make an effort to read sometimes. its either that or spend like 20 minutes in front of the mirror trying to get my contacts into my eyes :P
And dont y’all take a piss at me about the contacts, my girlfriend as tried getting me to do it so many times and my eyes just wont submit :D

You know there are a few movies out there ONLY worth watching in theaters, im beginning to think this is one of them.
    Peace out.

    January 28th, 2007 | 12:37

Being from germany I watched dubbed movies for 15 years and subbed english/american series for more than 5, so I am used to both. But needing to read the subs on the bottom of the screen while the action takes place somewhere else, without seeing facial expressions or key elements somewhat ruins the experience for me, so why don’t you be proud of being able to read, shut the fuck up and just answer the question? If people like me are too dumb or lazy to read subs, it’s our loss, not yours, eh?

    January 28th, 2007 | 16:21

I really wonder why they chose to mix the fantasy theme with “Franco”, totally ruined the movie for me.

It’s not a bad movie, just nothing spectacular IMO.

  37. nemcue
    January 28th, 2007 | 19:31

I pretty much agree with Tequila – it’s good.. but not great.

I don’t really know why, but I just didn’t like the voice-acting at all. And the characters were just so annoying at times..

Well Hollywood will be making more movies in the next 2 years that has the same special effect as this movie. It’s so innovative and bizarre with it’s creatures. So, we’ll see how the speical effects will be interwoven in the story lines.

  39. fy
    January 28th, 2007 | 23:09

“I really wonder why they chose to mix the fantasy theme with ‘Franco’”

because of the escapist element? if you were a child in a war-torn country would imagining fairy-tale friends be so uncommon? you do realise that all the fantasy stuff they put in was only the girl’s imagination?

this is why the most poignant moment was the end of the film, when she still held on to her fantasy tho she was #@%$& (spoiler).
