BioShock is a bout game-story and complicated innovatiative gameplay. Painkiller Series are about fast-paced quake-like killingspree with no more thought than the simple “KILL” one.
The only thing they share is the graphical engine which supports the entire game - but let’s face it people, Painkiller isnt that good because Single Player is a joke and Multiplayer is for the ones that actually bought it so.. To download this to play SP.. I think you’re better off with BioShock then - way better off.

Painkiller = what a snoozefest. If you like it I am happy for you. If I tried to play this game I would fall alseep during a battle.
I preferred the original Painkiller to the new iteration. The first expansion/sequel was decent (although the pace was REALLY slowed down), but this one feels like a real half-assed attempt both graphically and gameplay-wise.
Of course, I’m not huge into the mindless-shooters. I can play them casually every now and then, but man.. I needs me some substance!

Painkiller does what it does very well which is it appeals to the old-school type Quake players who aren’t looking for anything to deep but with lots of fast action and gibbage. Its not “better” or “worse”. Its a fun mindless shooter that lets you blow off some steam.

I have played PK and PK:BooH and I can say those were GREAT games.. very fun to play and i have nothing bad to say about those games.. I have been waiting PK:Overdose for about a year

For all of you asking, Painkiller:Overdose is a standalone expansion of Painkiller,you don’t need the first one.It was supposed to be released as an expansion that needed the original,but due to the size of the game and feedback from the fans,it came as standalone.
I loved the first one mindless shooting is just what the doctor ordered after a day working at the post office.

Well the torrent can’t be found on the link, but i used some torrent search engines to find it elsewhere. And as others reported, it is a DEMO. If it’s 1CD size then it’s a demo and does not worth downloading.

Although Postal and Painkiller are different in concept (you do have to think a little more in Postal than Painkiller - and I do stress the words “a little”) - Painkiller is more dark and serious than Postal. I really wouldn’t say one is better than the other, but rather they are different games for different tastes. Postal is a humorous, comedic game, Painkiller tells a story of horror.
BTW - I have played about an hour of Painkiller Overdose, and it’s all good to me. I have to agree with the mindless shooting - but the Painkiller games before this was not just a blastfest. Remember you had to figure out how to kill the bosses (like the boss with the bubbles, and the boss who’s hammer had to be broken - all the bosses had riddles to be solved) so no, Painkiller isn’t just about straight up killing without thinking - at least not the ones before Overdose.
How do you get this to work? I’m getting .001, .002… files. I’m assuming you use a joiner to join them together, but when i do, all i get is the file “flt-pkod”. I tried to put a .iso extension on it b/c the nfo said it’s an iso, but that doesn’t seem to work. Any suggestions?
