this is the commercial branch of an audio driver which doesn`t suck ass like ALSA. Thnx a lot for this release. finally i can enjoy my 5.1 sound card like in M$ Windows Vista.

This is some fake release? In July 2007, 4Front Technologies released sources for OSS under CDDL and GPL licenses. It means OSS is free. In the archive, you can find the freely downloadable package. So wtf is the keygen for?

Oh and where is the xmms plugin ?

After installation from .deb, it installs the OSS sound modules, but not the xmms plugin.

Its not considered obsolete. Have you really tried to configure anything 5.1 with ALSA ? Its pain in the ass and it doesnt work. It just sucks.

I installed this package over ALSA, and i can say the sound quality is way better and the xmixer which comes with this, is far away from the crappy alsa-mixers.

After scratching my head for a while, I think the description is wrong for this. The description describes the free, open-source OSS mixer. this is just a plugin for XMMS for virtual surround sound and a more advanced equilizer, by the looks of it. Check out the website to see what I mean.
