Opera Mini 3.0 released
One of the best application for your PDA / Smartphone is now available in new version - Opera Mini v3.0. Opera Software says Opera Mini can be used now in new version 3.0 to easily browse and upload pictures to all online community sites, such as MySpace, Blogger and Flickr and securely using popular webmail such as Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo Mail as well as making all Web transactions safe, including banking or shopping on eBay or Amazon. The browser is optimised to reduce the size of data transferred to the phone, which makes browsing fast and cheaper for users that pay per kilobyte transferred. This is achieved by server-side compression: when a Web page is accessed using Opera Mini, it is first sent to a remote server where it is compressed to reduce the size of the data transferred before sending it to the phone.
According to Opera Software, “This compression enables the processing of Web pages on even basic phones and also reduces the costs associated with browsing and data transferring for subscribers of limited data plans.” Another feature known as content folding reduces the amount of scrolling before users reach the main content of a site. And the browser enables users to launch their phone cameras through their browser to instantly publish photos to their e-mail, forum or blog. It also comes with an integrated RSS feed reader. This is a must have if you are a kind of net addict requiring web access everywhere with you!
Wow, finally an app on a mobile device with an interface designed for a mobile device… It seems so many applications on PDAs/Smartphones are just “ports” of the PC versions - and they all waste so much screen real estate.
Nice work Opera. Can’t go wrong if it’s as good as their browser for the PC.

I see nothing on their website or forum to suggest it can be used on PDA’s
theres a hacked version of this that has a file manager built in that can be used to edit files on ya phone that you cant with the normal file browser, i used to use it, it came off some russian site cant remember the page but it was bright red anyway lol

well i have been on the Symbian scene for years now, and Opera is old news, its just a new version of it, it looks just like the old 2.x versions
