I also dislike opera bittorrent client but ather than that opera is great browser.

To turn it off:
1. in the url type "opera:config" (no quotes)
2. Select BitTorrent
3. Uncheck "Enable" box.

Or right click on torrent file and "save target as".

i think opera is really great, but the only reason i'm not using it is that it won't let me download .torrent files on my hard drive. it automatically opens them in it's internal bittorrent client. i've tried several times to find where to shut it off, but have had no luck..

any help?

There are so many reasons to use Opera but I will only list one:

It works on Pentium I @ 133Mhz with only 64MB and it works well... I use it as my torrent/download PC. Eat that Firefox :D

IE7Pro + Vista64 is the most stable/compatible browser!
BTW: About the speed: Yeah with Opera you can display a page 20ms faster! LOL! Such a great achievement!

Right now I'm using the 64bit beta version of Opera in a 64bit Debian OS. But, you know what, as far as I'm concerned Firefox and Opera are about even since FF3 fixed most of its speed issues. The only reason I use Opera is preference. I've been using it since the first public release, back when you had to crack the banner adds off the top of it.

It's what I'm used to and it's still good.

Opera is great... if you have a slow PC. Otherwise time has proven again and again that overall Firefox is the best browser you can use. To help you understand what I mean, it's like a domestic car. No one cares when a good one is made, because history has given them all a bad name. So in terms of my browser, why would I switch if my browser does everything I need it to do (and believe me it's loaded in plugins) and it does it damn well? Just so I can be different and be in that small percentage of people not using IE and FF?

People need to learn that not all products that become mainstream are bad. Who knows what the future holds for FF but for now I'm really happy with FF, and if your happy with your Safari, good for you.

i never sad that FF dont have stuff i named, I just dont like to spend time making FF in opera ;)
(and ofc 4. was suppose to be "AD blocker" not popup blocker)

and i must say i just tryed firefox 3 RC2 and they made real improvment with speed and all, so its realy good browsing now.. i just installed that firegestures and that line it draw is cool...
It was some time i last tryed firefox vs2 i think it was so i gona hang on FF3 RC2 for some time now to see if i can turn it in opera and way beyond ^^

FF3 RC2 one tab --> 58MB 6 tabs -->64MB
its improvement but still more ;)
but lets say who cares about ram when u can get 4GB for 80€

@10, Safari is much faster to load pages than FF3.

On my Mac, I always come back to Safari after giving Firefox a fair go- never lives up to the standards I get from Safari.
