The audio is probably from a different source. This is common – R5 DVD for the picture and other source for the sound, because a Russian dubbed version or other language is frequently featured on the DVD. Our limits right now are the audio sources that we can use with the R5 video sources.

A few examples of this is the new Borat: 3-4 new releases, all with the same vid source, but different audio sources. The ASTEROiDS release had really bad audio, the Pukka release was a little better, but the Redemption80 release had audio mixed from 3 sources – and the final product was excellent. The LRC release of Casino Royale had an R5 video source and a crappy audio source. So get use to great video with substandard audio.

On a better note, good audio sources are usually easier to obtain then good video sources, so in the long run the R5 DVDs will really help early releases.

The sound on this release is weird. It’s in sync, but it sounds like it’s from a different source or something. Now I know why. Thanks for the R5 explanation.

R5 is not a dvdrip. R5 is between en TC and a DVDSCRNR?

i understood that it is less quality then DVD, but more then TC, and most of the previous released movies labeled TC and DVD Screener were actually R5’s.. so it’s not exactly the second one, but it is the official labeled second one
