Once Were Warriors 1994 DVDRip XViD iNT-PFa

Another good movie by PFa. This one is a New Zealand production and is very good rated and many good reviews all over the internet. IMDB and RottenTomatoes recommend this movies to everyone! I suggest you to watch it if nothing better to do. Enjoy!

One woman tries to keep her family together despite her violent, alcoholic husband. Based on the novel by Alan Duff. Made in New Zealand.

For Jake and Beth Heke, life in their suburban ghetto is going from bad to worse. Jake’s just lost his job, their delinquent teenage son Boogie has to appear in court and they can’t make ends meet with five growing kids. Late that night, they host another one of Jake’s raunchy drinking parties while the children lie awake in their bedroom. When their oldest son asks for money, which Beth discovers Jake has gambled away, it ignites a vicious argument that Jake solves by giving Beth one of his brutal beatings. The tide of violence continues to ebb and flow in the Heke household until a terrible tragedy makes them confront the dysfunctional state of their family.

EXCELLENT FILM AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Anyone who wants to expand their cinematic education has to see this searing social drama. One of the best observed comments on family life, this is up there with anything David Lean has made. With a wealth of excellent acting and outstanding tour-de-force performances from the leading man and woman, this is not to be missed. Also worth checking out the IMDB page for this.

Universal in it’s vision as to what happens to people when natives are taken over by a larger group and how to keep your peoples identity and culture alive.

fyi: Jake the Muss (Temuera Morrison), plays Jango Fett in Star Wars, who was cloned to make that army of drones. So following that logic, the Empire had an army of Jake the Musses. How the hell did they lose?

Cook me some fucking ewok eggs woman…

Yo – for some of us here who live in NZ, this is a documentary, and quite real for what goes on over here sometimes.

Oh and Tem Morrison was in Shortland St for a while, amoung other things. He’s been in a lot of NZ movies.

Confirmed. Aspect ratio is 16:9, but should be 4:3 (no, that is not the same). Sound was out of sync at the start of the second CD, but is OK in most of the movie and it could be a fluke with my PC.

Do these rippers ever check their own releases?

    LOL,

This is the catalyst movie for Australia’s reply, Chopper. Also the movie that propelled Cliff Curtis (uncle Bully) into the limelight.

Good movie but too many gullible idiots actually believe that’s the way “ALL” Maoris behave lol.
