Offscreen 2006 DVDRip XviD-MESS

Offscreen. A little generic name for the movie may actually be a big surprise for many of you. It’s a strange combination of various, usually not too common genres: horror, romance, thriller, all in one. This movie isn’t the classic flick you are used to, it’s a completely off the movie mainstream. It’s another Danish production, which won at least 5 movie prizes at film festivals around the world. As it happens with this kind of movies, someone may found its miracle while many others think it’s an absolute crap. I will leave the final decision on you…

UPDATE: This is a Dutch movie from 2005, not the Denmark one. Sorry for confusion, MESS made a really big mess with their NFO.

Well-known Danish actor Nicolas Bro reigns supreme in the role of Nicolas Bro. Bro’s marriage is on the rocks, his wife Lene has grown tired of their relationship, but instead of grabbing the bull by the horns, Bro decides to save his marriage by filming a love story with him and Lene playing the lead roles – as themselves. Bro’s good director friend Christoffer Boe lends him a camera and suggests that he films everything – a piece of advice that Bro takes far too literally. Bro’s constant filming succeeds in driving both his friends and wife nuts, and Lene ends up moving to a secret address in Berlin. Bro’s plans thus die a sudden death, but obsessed by the idea of completing his film, Bro hires Danish actress Trine Dyrholm to play his wife, Lene. Alas, nothing goes according to plan and Bro’s last hope of reclaiming his lost love is to seek out Lene in Berlin. It is a journey that gradually causes Bro to come apart at the seams in his increasingly desperate attempt to register his life on film.

Just one minor little thing you guys… mess-xvid-offscreen is not the Danish movie from 2006 but the Dutch movie from 2005 directed by Pieter Kuijpers….. two movies that can be confused easily (Off screen and Offscreen)
My guess is that the group never checked and since there is a Danish movie with the same name total confusion arose.
    Off screen (2005) Dutch:
“March 11th, 2002. John R. takes the head of security and 17 others hostage in Amsterdam biggest skyscraper. John R. demands to speak with the Philips head of Sound&Vision. His goal is to warn people about a large-scale fraud, aimed at brainwashing consumers by means of widescreen TV sets. In the film, we find out about John’s preliminary frustrations, his bizarre encounter with Philips head of Sound&Vision Gerard Wesselinck, their impossible friendship, rivalry and John’s armed attempt to force the executive to do penance in public.”

So not only we have to recognize the difference between Dutch and Danish, but we also have to differentiate several types of Offscreen? Damn you, Europe, for making our brains hurt!

Dutch = you pay your meal on a date, she pays hers.
Danish=Yummy pastries you eat in the morning…

    :)

Even that simplified explanation still sounds too difficult to memorize… Considering the fact that both countries lie just above (or, specifically, in case of Netherlands, mostly below) the sea level, it seems much easier just to wait until the effects of global warming kick in :)

The “Other” movie (the one described in this RLSLOG entry, not the one actually in the torrent) sounds interesting – anyone got a torrent link for it?

  16. June 7th, 2007 | 12:17

in the trailer I saw Jeroen Krabbe, so that means that the movie is the dutch film, so I think Ill check it :D
