Review:

For my part, having no strong sympathies for either side I feel that this movie falls short in terms of acting, writing and special effects. Which is a shame considering that it is such an interesting point in history, which holds great relevance today.

They did quite well with the light hearted scenes. That said anything that is supposed to be moving or grave just comes off as cheap and contrived to me, too many shortcuts and thus a lack of affinity for the main people. Which in turn makes their suffering more of a specticle to be picked apart than anything else.

Also its a shame that all the important places/dates that pop up are in French, Arabic and Hebrew, no English.

As for crummy effects and falling short just look at the closing scene, with the american’s “dead” wife. Shocker! you can see her breathing and you dont have to go out of your way to notice.

Anyway, if you go into this wanting to see a film and have no agenda in your heart you will most likely be bored or, like myself amused at the most inappropriate times.

The Palestinians where living in Palestine for at least 1300 years before the West decided to punish them for the Holocaust. Also your statement that the world’s media is pro-Arab is also false as when there is an act of resistance carried out against your terrorist illegal state by the Palestinians we are bombarded with heart rending images of injured children and crying parents, but when there is an atrocity (and there have been many) carried out by your country against the Palestinians it is barely mentioned as a passing comment in our western media. You say your country goes to great lengths to prevent civilian deaths, so, why is it that the majority of Palestinian dead are civilians?The figures say it all the amount of civilian deaths on the Palestinian side since the outbreak of the current Intifada is at least 3 times as many as the civilian deaths inflicted upon Israel through Palestinian suicide bombing. So, who are the real terrorists? You should know that history has proven that suicide attacks/guerilla warfare is the most effective means of resistance available to any oppressed people against a more heavily armed and aggressive oppressor. History has also proven that illegal occupation of a Muslim country is doomed to failure (e.g. Afghanistan, Algeria, Iraq in the early part of the 20th century and Iraq right NOW!!!). And Mookie you fuckin’ ignorant dick the current Hamas government in Palestine was democratically elected by it’s people in a landslide victory (an election which was monitored by the UN and deemed fair) and yet the so called “pro-Arab” world condemned the result of that election and cut off much needed aid in the world’s largest concentration camp that is Palestine. Also Mookie all the Arab states don’t have our version of democracy, they have leaders and governments imposed on them by our MI6 and the American CIA. All of the above is factual even though the “pro-Arab” media rarely mentions any of it.

Finally, Sooti I was so glad that your comrades in the IDF got ass-raped (figuratively speaking) by the Hezbollah last Summer. Don’t you just love it when the underdogs come out on top.
