    nVidia have also released the 180.84’s for high end cards (8 – 9 – GTX2x series). This is a *BETA* driver, so use at your own risk. There are reports that these drivers significantly increase performance in GTAIV.

    Or you could just by and gameconsole like the XBOX360, if you dont want it then throw it out with a 360spin kick and by a ps3 but then you actually HAVE to buy the games.

    No body is forcing anyone to update their drivers, if you think GTAIV is running as it should be on your system w/o the updated drivers then dont bother updating.

    this game looks awfull, not even crysis was so baddly optimized… at least in medium settings it looked preety, gta looks like a piece of cr*ap

    I had the game working and since putting this Nvidia “update”, I never got it to run right again. I now have the no texture problem and haven’t found a way out of it. I don’t want to downgrade either since the update improves performance in GRiD and Farcry.

    Once upon a time, games were adapted to drivers, and even with CD drivers you could play games. Nowadays drivers are adapted to games.

    Yeah, PC gaming is great. You get the game months later, then spend ages searching for a working crack, avoiding all of the viruses posted up by n00bs that could hose your computer. If you’re lucky enough to get the game working, you need to invent a time machine so you can go forward to 2012 where you can buy a PC that’s actually powerful enough to run it with all of the settings maxed out and even then you can’t use all these great multiplayer modes because it’s a cracked version. Usually the game will be filled with bugs, so you wait for an update to it and then the search for a working crack begins again. PC gaming is fantastic!

    Does anybody have an idea how i can cheat the graphic settings? I’ve got a 9800gx2 1024mb (dual 512mbgpu) so it’s a high end card,but it only recognisez single 512… It runs very very smoothly,so i should be able to crank it up a little… any thoughts?
    ps: I cannot save my progression in gta4…what should i do?

    wow this is strange to see this here. I guess if it helps us scmuckos steal GTA and play it a little easier then its worth it!
    i have an nVidia GTX260, (actually it started off as an 8800GT from EVGA but i traded up 3 times.. theirs a trick for unlimited trade ups) i have GTA downloaded but not extracted. Theirs so many other good games i have in my queue, Fallout3, Left4Dead and i think one other.

    Merry fukkkking christmas to me.

    erm, you can also buy games for PC. It’s not all warez.
    Also PC games are most of the time cheaper then their console counterparts.
    You’re right about release dates. Some cool games only get released a lot later, but others are released simultaneously, so it’s all good. A bit patience.
    DLC (downloadable content) is free most of the times for pc, and rarely free on consoles.
    PC controls are very convenient, and if needed you can attach a controller when you like.
    Ofcourse both platforms (pc-console) have their advantages and disadvantages. So let’s cut out the fanboyism. It doesn’t help anyone. And one fanboy won’t convince another.

    god fscking dammmt, after installing this, I went from an average of 15fps to like 5fps its not even playable now. looks even worse, runs even worse, and to top it off I cant control my fan speeds through NTune anymore, so I didnt realize my fan was only at the default 60% and came pretty close to burning out my video card. fsk you NVidia and fsck this game im about to throw the box and dvds out into the street.

    So does it helps or not?

    When i got the update from vista for my 8800GT it was OK for farcry 2.
    If i did the Nvidia update it didn’t work for Farcry 2 , so if i do this update i hope it will work for both games.
    Farcry 2 and GTA IV…

    Um you only get the games later if the game in question was originally designed for the console.

    Its hard to compare console and pc gaming, they both have huge advantages and disadvantages. Without PC gaming i can tell you for sure that Console games wouldnt look NEARLY as good as they do nowadays without pc gamers spending MEGA dollers on the newest cards and pumping those R&D dollars into ATI and nVidia we get newer faster cards and then use the previous gen for the consoles:)

    I am a pc gamer, you get the best looking games that way and its more fun to me to mod a game and play with the inner workings. BUt that said, i dont know why but sometimes (take fallout 3 as an example) games that are obviously lesser quality graphics on the console LOOK BETTER to me then their Pc counterparts, sometimes. I cant explain it. And also its just more fun to pickup a controller and play a game on a couch then installing and sitting hunched over at my pc desk. Its the atmosphere.

    Also i would not download the drivers from here. You can get the drivers for free easily. The strange thing to is that this download is a few kilobytes bigger then the same beta downloaded from their site.

    Has anyone figured how to solve the missing textures problem yet??

    I’ve tried uninstalling my drivers and updating to the newest ones, adding no restrictions to graphics, windowing it.
    and well, it looks okay for only a bit around you.

    the 180.84 beta driver is i think a BRAND new one specifically made for this GTA problem. Here:

    i think the driver is VERY close to the existing beta driver 180.48 the size is very similar and all the dates are similar.

    Those are BETA drivers. I downloaded them from the nvidia site and now GTA won’t start :/
    I have an original version and it worked fine. Now when the game finishes loading it just silently crashes to desktop.

    Hi, can somebody take their time and help me with RGSC not starting at all? everything installed, xp3, drivers, gta, gfw, rgsc, anything i can think of. Still it shows an hourglass for a while, then nothing.

    FUM it all depends on your setup, the beta drivers work for a lot of people. But it would help some of us to know first what graphics card you have and then the rest of the specs.

    BTW 180.84 LAPTOP Version Gta beta drivers.

    works great definitely raised my FPS by about 15, no slowdown or stuttering at all anymore on med-hig settings. its finally playable for me.

    But the Ntune sucks, it screwed up all my settings and none of my programs are listed so I couldnt force AA for GTA without manually adding it. and there is no control over fan speed anymore its just greyed out.

    maybe not everyone is getting good results on this driver?
    i got 10fps more after installing this driver.

    and now, even getting below 20fps seems to be smoother than the 20fps i get before this driver…

    weird though…

    I’m running the game a lot better now.
    I have two 9800GTX’s installed and finally it runs reasonably good. Estimated 25/30 fps.

    It is running almost smooth. Maybe if there is going to be a patch from Rockstar it will be running like it should.

    Everyone should be patient and wait for a patch/update and these drivers do improve your performance so stop wining about the drivers. If they do not work, you haven’t installed them right. Make sure you uninstalled your previous drivers correctly before you install these.

    The 180.48 driver has been out for weeks, before GTA4 came out, and they’re WHQL not Beta. Nvidia have yet to release optimised drivers specifically for GTA4.

    (And GTA 4 is not SLI enabled yet).

    So which games that came out on PC and consoles came out on the PC first? GTAIV? Nope. Mirror’s Edge? Nope. Need For Speed Undercover? Nope. Prince of Persia? Nope. Consoles always get the game first, and often it’s weeks or months ahead of the PC version. When games are done right on the PC then you get the graphical advantage and you can use a keyboard/mouse, but then you could just buy a £99 Xbox 360 and play every game for free and without searching for cracks, having the game crash, waiting for months for it to come out etc.

    I have a Gainward Radeon 4850 GS and it works great for me in 1440×900 (19inch wide monitor) and high details i get 47 fps in average, don’t have any problems except after an hour and the half, two hours of play game starts to lag like crazy so i have to restart it (probably memory leak in game).
    I had to install .net framework compact 3.5 (game didn’t want to start before i installed it).

    I actually lost a few FPS on the benchmark using these beta drivers. Which seems to equate to more like 10fps in the actual game while playing.

    This is using a paid version on Steam and Vista 64.

    You need to check the Nvidia website. 180.48 drivers are WHQL and have been for 2 weeks (before GTA4 came out).

    The Nvidia control panel doesn’t recognize my GTA IV install and refuses to accept the GTA VII.EXE for changing the graphics, espeacialy forcing Anti-Aliasing,I used the Fedora crack and thats probably why. My question is how do we get around it?

    IVE JUST FOUND ANOTHER PROBLEM THAT STOPS US FROM PROGRESSING THROUGH THE MISSIONS.

    I’M CURRENTLY DOING THE MISSION FOR PLAYBOY X WHERE YOU HAVE TO TAKE A PHOTO WITH YOUR NEW MOBILE PHONE OF THE GUYS STANDING ON THE BASKETBALL COURT.
    WHEN TRYING TO TAKE THE PHOTO ITS BLURY AND IT MAKES A FUNNY SOUND WHEN YOU TAKE THE PICTURE…..AND YOU CANT SEND THE PICTURE TO PLAYBOY X FOR CONFIRMATION ON WHUCH GUY TO TAKE OUT.
    IM CURRENTLY USING THE 0X0000 CRACK. IS THERE ANYWAY TO FIX THIS???

    JUST THOUGHT I WOULD POST THIS TO SEE IF ANYONE ELSE WAS HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND TO LET ANY CRACKER FIX THIS.

    they have the guts to say they payed 200k for protection….

    Bad thing .. settings are reset every time you restart the game , and got a little los of fps in benchmark..
    Can’t see any performance update or downgrade …
    And automatiquely the settings are set a way to high ..

    I bought the game and it runs like crap… hope there are some better ATI drivers soon that sorts it out. GTA IV is the only game that runs badly on my system.

    mines worse after installing these.

    system – (1)gtx 280, 4gig ram, quad core @ 2.4, vista x64.

    was slow when i started, but oddly improved a lot.

    with these its near unplayable, and still randomly crashes quite a bit.

    fun game though.

    but when it crashes, as the save points are so random, its hard to follow any story

    lol 1didot cosole gamers, you should google DVI to HDMI cables before you sound even dumber. After playing PC games on a 56″ from your couch you will never go back to consoles again, the graphics make ps3 & xbox look like gmaes from 10 years ago.
