Nullsoft Winamp 5.34 Build 1155 Beta Incl KeyMaker-DVT

Probably the most popular media player WinAmp was released in the new betaversion. WinAmp continues to be No.1 player not only because of his long history, but simply because of its qualities and easy usage. Although the new version offers the ability to switch between old and new look, I somehow stucked atversion 2.95 and have no reason to upgrade, as it’s support all I need and even way more. Changelog is available below.

Winamp is the ultimate high-fidelity music player for Windows. Winamp supports MP3, CD and other audio formats, not to mention hundreds of plug-ins and thousands of skins.

WinAmp features:

  • Winamp is 100% free.
  • Plays MP3, CD, MIDI, VOC, WAV, MOD, AudioSoft, WMA and MJuice audio playback formats.
  • Winamp is skinnable, allowing for unlimited visual customizations.
  • Winamp is plug-in based, allowing any existing or future audio format to be supported.
  • Winamp is strongly supported by Winamp.com, where all approved skins and plug-ins can be found.
  • Main component has user-friendly button layout for ease of use.
  • Built-in equalizer component lets you get optimum sound quality.
  • Powerful playlist editor component lets you organize your songs.
  • Fully functional Mini-browser component directs you to additional song information.
  • All components can be hidden if necessary.
  • Main, Equalizer, and Playlist components can be reduced to “Window Shade” mode for maximum desktop space while retaining most functionality
  • Main and Equalizer windows can activate “Double size” mode for even easier use.
  • Playlist editor can generate an html file listing all songs in current playlist.
  • Winamp is built with SHOUTcast technology, which allows for streaming MP3 music from other Winamp users over the internet.

“Although the new version offers the ability to switch between old and new look, ”

That’s a rather old feature, going WAY back they’ve had support for skins and the classic skin is always included.

Winamp aint all that when it’s put against any other media player, it’s a classic and that’s why it’s so popular it’s been around for ages.

I’ll stick with my portable version.

Winamp has always been my favorite, now especially with this plugin: http://www.qolabs.com/audioburst/ It makes my low bitrate MP3s sound great. Plus, theres always the Enhancer 0.17 plugin that works perfectly as well. Theres a crack online somewhere.

DFX is better dsp plugin for winamp, though its a commercial product.

And what are the pros of winamp? Hmm.. lemme think about it.. The only condenders are Media player and iTunes (or wtf the program is called). So winamp wins, hands up. Only thing thats better in iTunes is the medialibrary with album art; winamp should do something great for its library system.

Just use winamp to make the world a better place - its been around longer than you in the pc world.

Nah, I installed DFX the other day, its not as good as Enhancer. Granted, it looks alot better, but Enhancer does more than DFX does.

And if anyone wanted that Audioburst PowerFX I talked about, heres a crack:

I like JetAudio the best as far as audio quality goes..

foobar is the one and only audio player for windows (orelse amarok wins hand down).

as custom as it gets, very light in resources, ability to handle enormous libraries (what about a dozen of playlists with ca. 1k-2k songs in each? well that sounds like winamp isn’t best at handling)

    Foobar.. too plain, sounds mediocre.

I tried Winamp w/ PowerFX and it makes the audio too dry and artificial. Gives my ears a numb sensation. Winamp w/ DFX is 2nd best to JetAudio IMO.
