FiCO have released a interesting sounding History Channel documentary that focuses on Nostradamus and his predictions about 2012.

    What about the possibility of fear induced catastrophe? If you believe it, it'll happen kind of thing. Or perhaps a change in the Earth caused by a predicted timescale (ie every 5000 years or so the earth's axis shifts, is 2012 the next shift and thus a change in the earth?)

    Hopefully this version is in sync, last one was way oos.

    Coincidentally I was just finishing some research on the subject and it appears as if everyone wants to believe this is all rubbish. (Youtube Video Search: 2012 debunked) I do not blame them but the subject does arouse my curiosity.

    Except that Nostradamus never made any predictions about the year 2012. Nobody did. Even the Mayans had nothing to say about it. It was simply the end of their long calendar cycle. As far as they were concerned, the cycle would simply begin again at the beginning.

    If Nostradamus was so precisely forseeing things, why did he get killed? There is no asteroid big enough to destroy the earth on scan, but there can be small ones that always sneak up. The earth 'can't' be in the 'center' of the universe and allign with other planets in some strange mysterious way that destroys it. Aliens are speculation(too much hollywood), and the earth axis wobble,plate shifts etc are all stupidly over exaggerated and are effectively life changing, as a sunny day in summer. Forget 2012, you could be run over tomorrow. 2012 is irrelevant, just like the year 2000

    I thought that it was the earth would be in the very center of our galaxy… Not the universe… The universe is too vast for anyone here to actually figure out just where the end of it is… But if it is in the center of even outr galaxy, who knows? Maybe it will make a slight ahift out of its circular patten across the sun. That's what's mostly being speculated right now, and as for me, I don't know if something will happen. One thing's for sure though, there will be a LOT of induced panic, people will sell their prized possessions and houses and wait for the end of the world (it'll be the 1960's all over again with people waiting for God to come take them away :S ), and well if the world does shift a change, it could mean another possible Ice Age (I mean, if the world's even 1% further away from the sun, we'd freeze to death; 1% closer and we'd be fried). The Mayan race was far more intellectual (and in some ways they could build structures we stil can't perfect properly, same as the Egyptians), and their calendar just happens to end around December 2012… Could just mean they got tired of writing on the darn thing, or were wiped out by newcomers, or maybe the world does end in 2012… Nuclear war is going to come sooner or later, no matter how badly we choose not to believe it :( So anyway, all we can do is speculate and prove it wrong until otherwise!

    at least im safe.as it is said..i live in australia..the safest place in the world..the only problem is that i need to be in the desert at that time..but i would probally be killed anyway by our aboriginals who think they own australia.. but then again if i give the blacks a slab of victoria bitter i may be able to camp there for 1 night..so i think i will give them a truck load instead for that they will give their wives and children to me.and let me sleep in their huts until the grog runs out..either way by the time the grog runs out the world would have ended or i will be dead when they know i have no more money for grog. abbos we have to pay them to even look at ayers rock..what a joke..but i forgot..the world owes it to them. they ownthe land..

And are you forgetting the three new dwarf planets found out beyond pluto? knock one of them out of their orbit and send it in to earth and earth will be a dust cloud as two of the three are larger then the moon.

    not doomsday at all, although the Maya expressed great significance to the day, it was just because it was the end of a "cycle" (periods of 144,000 days). Hell the quatrains of Nostradamus, in no way mentions "the end of the world" at all… anywhere in there. In fact the so called "anti christ" is defeated and peace is restored.

    Ursula Southeil (Mother Shipton) in the original 1641 edition, say nothing about doomsday either.

    This entire "documentary" is a farce from beginning to end, written merely to entertain the dumb masses of the world.

    Nostradamus predicts something will happen in(or around) 2012, Edgar Cayce, the mayan calender ends on 2012, the hopi indians and many others through a couple century span.
    There are also many other things pointing to 'somthing' that will happen in 2012. Why does everyone think the world will end in 2012? You people are the ignorant ones. It will NOT end. The current cycle our planet is in will end AROUND 2012 and another begins. Current human psyche(our current way of thinking)will end and another will begin. Just like it did when the world entered into world wars I & II and when world war II finally ended when america used nuclear weapons and the entire world changed its thinking and entered into an era of peace. And we are at the crossroads of a bunch of different circumstances that can and will decide that fate of all humanity and this planet in general.
    Like for example there are things like the H1N1 virus that Barrack Husein Obama had said at comment 62, there is laser weapons, the fact that (most of you will probably will stop reading my comment now) the stock exchange can be and IS controlled) The fact we are constantly monitored by camera's and we are consistency monitored and information about us put into databases (dataminning). These are just a few things that will (and have already begun to change) the path humanity is taking….all around 2012 and all of these things I have mentioned there are many, many government and military documents stated thats these things are fact and are a reality) I know most of you dont belive me…..just google them. There are many more things that people just dont believe or just turn the other check to in denile that are affecting the path humanity is taking right now around 2012.
    And another thing many ignorant people seem to compare the y2k bug to other things they just refuse to belive.
    The y2k bug was real and had a very real threat.
    It really did have the potential to reset peoples bank accounts (leaving them void of money), leaving cities without power, etc. etc. We were just lucky we where able to patch the affected systems in time.
