Norton Ghost v12.0-EDGE

Sceners from group EDGE released a new, working version of Norton Ghost 12 today, a famous backup solution. You could have seen some other releases of this software earlier, but none of them was working correctly, either because of bad iso file or certain issues with product activation. This one should work without any problems…

Your PC drive now contains more than text files. There are contacts, financial documents, pictures, and (valuable) music and video downloads. They aren’t as safe as you think. A glitch may accidentally occur to corrupt and even delete your files. That’s where Norton Ghost comes in. It helps you backup your precious data automatically. Prompt it or let it work in the background like a ghost - quietly protecting your files, transferring them to backup drives, and even optimizing the performance of your PC’s drives. There may be a ghost of a chance that you’ll ever need Ghost 12 but it’s far better to have Ghost fighting on your side. After all, your PC contains key aspects of your life.

Protect them with Ghost 12. Automatically detects storage devices, analyzes your system, and offers best practice backup advice during installation Automatically monitors and optimizes backup disk space Triggers backups on key events, like new program installations or user logins Creates new backups on demand with One Button Back Up Now Encrypts backups to help keep them secure Task-based interface simplifies management and monitoring Displays all scheduled backups - plus the degree of backup protection for each drive on your computer - in one convenient view One-step setup wizard makes installation and configuration quick and easy Begins backing up to Maxtor external drives by simply pressing the Maxtor OneTouch button Microsoft Windows XP and Vista friendly.

In addition, with Norton Ghost 12, users can now choose to do full system backups or to back up only specific files and folders, or both! Backups include encryption and error checking to keep data safe, while compression, incremental backups, and automatic backup file management minimizes storage space. Users can also use Norton Ghost to convert recovery points of a physical computer to a virtual disk. Additionally, users can leverage Norton Ghost for customizable, event-triggered backups that automatically protect systems when specific events occur.

Product features:

  • Full system backup (disk image) — Backs up everything on a hard drive or partition
  • File and folder back up — Choose only the specific files and folders you want to back up rather than saving an entire drive.
  • Incremental backups — Backs up only those files that have changed to reduce backup time and save storage space.
  • Backwards compatible — Restores data from backups created with previous versions of Norton Ghost or Norton Save & Restore
  • Performance Throttling — Allows you to keep working by minimizing usage of system resources.
  • Event-based backups — Triggers backups on key events, like new program installations or sudden increases in data storage.
  • Advanced compression and encryption — minimizes storage space and helps keep sensitive documents safe.
  • Google™ Desktop integration – Searchable backup indexes makes recovering your data even faster.

Cheers, been using ghost 10 for a while and it’s great. I’m not a lover of any Norton products except ghost - it’s saved me on more than one occasion so I trust it.

I’ve tried trueimage, but I found it slower to create the backups, and as ghost has saved me in the past I trust it more.

Stay away from Norton and Sonic/Roxio products if you wanna do backups whether on home PCs or client/server use Acronis.

I just bought Norton Ghost 12.. I tried to make an image on a USB drive and received error messages that NO-ONE seem to be able to decode. Going the web site I find their web site does not work in Firefox.. huh? And on the error page for Ghost12 it lists all the common errors for Ghost 10. huh?

They say I can email for tech support and then provide no email address for this. huh? They want me to pay $10 for a phone call. Presumably they will then tell me the email address for free tech support.. huh?

This is really really screwed up..!

I am sorry, but this company is all marketing and no content. Their stuff usually does not work and is full of errors.

I used earlier Norton products (10 years ago) and they were usually ok. The last years has been nothing but crap and poor support. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY. DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR MARKETINGS..
