NORTON ANTIVIRUS V2007-MAGNiTUDE

A highly expected release of Norton Antivirus v2007 is finally here. I’m pretty sure many users will give this software a short or longer try, because it belongs amongst one of the most popular antiviruses. I’ve already described my relation to this software in previous post of Norton 360, but if you install just this Antivirus, you shouldn’t have bigger problems. The new versions continues in strange Symantec’s policy of buying yearly subscriptions for upgrade, although you need to buy the initial installation package as well, which isn’t that cheap. But that’s something that doesn’t have to trouble us :).

Norton AntiVirus 2007 blocks viruses and spyware with advanced protection. It automatically detects and removes viruses, spyware, unwanted adware, and Internet worms, and provides protection updates. Your purchase provides a full year of protection with regular updates from Norton to combat the latest Internet threats. The purchase of this product contains a licence for one user. The 2007 version includes the new Security History feature to let you review detections and other actions taken by Norton AntiVirus. Also new for this release is Cookie Tracking Support, which gives you the ability to remove detected tracking cookies.

The new Security History is a convenient, centralized location where you can review detections and other actions taken by Norton AntiVirus. AntiVirus 2007 continues to offer Auto-Protect, Worm Blocking and more alerts. It also provides the option to allow Norton AntiVirus to automatically take action or be alerted prior to taking action. This “set-it-and-forget-it” solution lets you view alerts when you want to, so you can let Norton AntiVirus take care of the rest. At your convenience you can visit the Security History to view detections made and actions already taken by Norton AntiVirus.

Tracking Cookie Support is also new for AntiVirus 2007. Upon scanning the system, tracking cookies will be detected and you will have the option to delete tracking cookies or ignore them. For some sites, you may want to allow cookies so that you don’t need to sign into the site each time you visit it. But other cookies you may want to delete, such as those from third-party advertisers.

Internet Worm Protection has been enhanced for 2007 so that it now protects against entire categories of spyware, viruses, worms and Trojan horse programs. Rather than block individually identified threats, this feature now matches individual but unknown threats to known worm and virus families and blocks them from installing on the system without requiring specific virus or worm signatures, giving you zero-hour protection. This technology helps protects against new spyware, viruses and worm threats before they are even created.

Rootkit protection has been improved for AntiVirus 2007 to better guard against hidden threats such as rootkits, a type of virus that exhibits no discernible symptoms in order to evade detection. Previous versions of Norton AntiVirus already protect against user mode and application level rootkits. Leveraging VxMS technology acquired by Symantec through its merger with Veritas, Symantec has increased detection of emerging stealth threats by including patent-pending rootkit protection at the deepest level within the operating system. This protects against kernel mode rootkits that have dropped a driver onto the system. These threats may be invisible to Windows or other security software, but can be detected and removed by AntiVirus 2007.

Norton 2007 key features:

  • Automatically detect and block viruses, spyware, and worms
  • Rootkit Protection finds and removes hidden threats in the operating system
  • Internet Worm Protection blocks viruses, spyware and worms without specific signatures
  • Email and instant message scanning detects, removes or blocks infected attachments
  • Full System Scan performs a deep scan to remove existing viruses, spyware and other threats
  • Norton Protection Center provides a central place to easily check overall security settings
  • Live Update™ Notice alerts you to new features, product updates and threat advisories as available throughout the renewable service period

I still prefer Kaspersky Antivirus!!!Anyway symantec is very known for their good products!!!

  6. March 16th, 2007 | 02:25

I’m sticking with NOD32 for it being very good and light-weight and kasversky for still kicking ass with firewall/ad blocking.

It’s Nortons - why bother… talk about bloatware, if Nortons Security was any good, they would block this crap from being installed.

There are much better & cheaper solutions out there.

Now this Symantec threads/topics are just a waste of time. They are 100% useless. No one uses them anymore. I hope they go bankrupt.

In fariness Symantec Corporate packages are very good, the consumer level shit they churn out in the name of Norton is terrible however.

Great release, also the first, fully working one, after 3-4 months! I started to beleive no one will crack this app. Congratulations, MAGNiTUDE! I hope you release NAV 14.2, which is also Vista compatible, and a keygen for NIS. However, you know, for all of us - “if you really like it, BUY it” :P

Hmm I am unsure if this will work.

We all remember what SHIT NAV 2006 was, the activation didn’t work proper on any release and all that.

I am still on Nav 2005. That works, and I will switch to another antivirus software in the future.

I don’t trust this new Nav 2007 to be 100% working. Becaus of the online activation stuff. Besides how do you update virus def.

    March 16th, 2007 | 16:43

ive been dealing whit the real cd and it wont install at all detect fake windows /os

ther no actuall way of cracking the 2006-2007 , 2005 is crackable and worjks ok!!!

Seeing as only a few weeks ago Norton anti virus had a security hole (2967) allowing a buffer overflow attempt that lead to almost every uni in the world getting hacked i think i will give it a miss.

    NOD32 All The Way.
    http://NOD32.SoftwareSecuritySolutions.com

No problems at all since I began using this months ago. Daily updates, simple, light interface. What more do you need.

I use to be a Symantec fan, probably until about 2005 when they released Norton Bloatware Edition (Extra fat edition). Needless to say, it was all downhill from there. Endless activation bull (we’re talking change your hard drive and have to reactivate). Paying an expensive yearly subscription PLUS purchasing the program itself.

    You name it..
