Chakra are currently the best HDRip group out there. They’re releasing all of the high profile flicks at an extremely fast rate. “No Country For Old Men” just came out yesterday in DVDRip quality and the HDRip is here for grabs… well done.

Synopsis: With NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, the Coen Brothers have found a perfect match in Pulitzer Prize-winning author Cormac McCarthy. Their adaptation of McCarthy’s praised novel is a staggering masterpiece. In this almost impossibly faithful adaptation, the film takes place in a small Texas border town in 1980. Sheriff Bell (a never-been-better Tommy Lee Jones) has ruled the land for years without the use of a gun, but a new brand of reckless lawlessness has taken over his town. Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) is an innocent Everyman with a devoted wife, Carla Jean (Kelly Macdonald), but when he stumbles across a drug deal gone deadly and finds two million dollars, he’s determined to keep it for himself. There’s only one problem. He’s being pursued by one of the most amoral, evil psychopaths that the big screen has ever seen. Wearing an absurd haircut and brandishing a pressurized weapon that’s used to murder cattle, Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem) creeps forward on his mission to track Moss down and return the money to its rightful owners to save his own skin.

    k people, be warned, this film is frankly mediocre. Can’t comment on the quality of this particular rip, but the film is a let down. Its very slow, do not try and watched stoned, you will fall asleep. BTW the ending is absolute shizzle…

    This film is a study of the nature of man, if you mistake it for a thriller about stolen money (which a lot of people have) then youre gonna end up dissapointed.

    That’s a pretty broad theme: “the nature of man.” I think the title of the movie holds the main idea. Figure out what’s bothering Sheriff Ed, and you’ll find the meaning of the title.

    @5 if you wanted to watch hd movies on a pc with a 720p lcd, would you not also need a graphics card on your pc that supports hdmi????

    @26. no.a simple graphic card would do, use “dvi to hdmi” or “rgb to rgb” or “dvi to dvi” cable to connect the lcd to the pc, but you do need a dissent pc (amd 3200+ 1g ram x1xxx GC)and matruska codex
    HDMI is used to transfer bough audio and video, DRM uncompressed digital streams.

    How can the author call CHAKRA the best hd group? The best groups the ones doing crf 18 encodes and higher bitrate audio, not that the audio matters so much for me. Chakra’s DVD-5 releases can’t hold a candle to the much higher bitrate releases by ESiR, ctrlhd, blind and the like. It’s just a shame nearly all scene hd releases are DVD-5.

    This is without a doubt in my mind the best movie nominated for an Oscar this year.Best picture nods should off been this movie ,I Am Legend,The Darjeeling Limited,3:10 to Yuma and Rescue Dawn.Also best foreign should be Tropa de Elite, best documentery should be PBS’s America at a Crossroads and how in the world didnt 300 get a nod for visuals…

    You are wrong. There are players out who can play mkv-files. I own a Popcorn Hour NMT A-100. Watching movies in mkv-format as we speak. You can also use Twix M-6500A, much more expensive than PCH. Now you know :D

    Have you read the book?

    No, I didn’t think so. The ending, and most of the film, is 100% faithful to the book, word for word. That in itself is enough to get the “best screenplay” oscar for starters.

    Hollywood usually caters to morons, by altering the stories and endings of books when made into films, because they think people only like films where all the ends are neatly tied up. People like you reinforce that. This film doesn’t do it and is excellent for it.

    For a change, this film will make you think about how it works, it won’t lay out the pieces in order for you to fit together like a 3 year old. That’s the difference between art and pop culture.

    If people can’t work out that the film is about the Sherriff, not about Chigurh and Moss, then you need to do a bit of reading first. Maybe Wikipedia, both about the film and the book?

    The easy road brings fast but unsatisfying rewards; work for something and you’ll get more out of it.

    A very accessible way for many of us to play .mkv files on our TV’s is through the PS3.

    Google a nifty little utility called mkv2vob, which does lossless conversion of .mkv files into a .vob which the PS3 will play. Even better, these can be streamed over your network via a media server (TVersity is easy and free).

    720p with 5.1 sound from a 4GB torrent? Hell yeah!

    I’ve got to say that the Popcorn Hour does look pretty sweet too, though.

    I didn’t realise that it also had english subs, I cancelled my download when I saw that. They are both the same quality as far as I know but as stated the second one is titled English. I will download the english one now to see and let you know

    As far as I know it is I copied and pasted the title on 63 which says 720p. It all works cos I got it earlier it’s a .MKV file

    Anyone else having playback problems with this and other Chakra releases (i.e. No Country for Old Men)?

    VLC (0.8.6d and 0.8.6e)says:

    mkv error: cannot load cues (broken seekhead or file)

    I can play the file though, but ff and rw is impossible, playback seems to freeze.

    Ok the ending of the movie seems to be giving some people a problem! The phsycho did not have to go and fulfill his promise but he did because he was truly warped. That proved it beyond a doubt because he risked himself for no reason except in his own twisted mind. The Calcary did not show up to stop him as some would expect (The sheriff) which goes to the name of the book and the movie. The accident was a slap in the Phsych’s face for doing something stupid and unneccesary. I would go into further detail but I do not want to spoil the picture for those who have not seen it. Watching this movie on a small PC screen or on tv does nothing for it. Go see it where it should be seen in a movie theatre. It is one of the better movies of all time if you get the drift. As some have said if you go looking for an action thriller something is wrong. The theme for this movie is stated in the title

    That’s kind of the point though. She doesn’t understand the situation and in her mind that kind of evil doesn’t exist in the world.
