for simple editing , i use the nero wave editor from the 6.6 suite ….
Nero 6.6 was the last good nero edition !

Use Audition 1.5 with WaveArts plug in. It’s the true master.

For this kind of work I prefer Cool Edit or Audition 1.5 nothing comes even close…
