Nintendo Starts with Wii presale tomorrow
The big console battle is slowly starting: Just as it did with the PlayStation 3, GameStop announced today that on October 13, it will accept a limited number of pre-orders for the much-anticipated Nintendo Wii. The retailer expects the limit to be reached very quickly, most likely in only minutes, and no additional pre-orders will be allowed. The reservation fee is $50.
Nintendo expects to supply 4 million Wii systems to stores by the end of the year, and GameStop with its EB Games subsidiary has 3,600 stores nationwide. On Tuesday, the company rapidly went through its pre-order quota of PS3 consoles. However, the initial supply of units from Nintendo will likely be far higher than that available from Sony. Many people favorited Wii before its competitors, PlayStation 3 and Microsoft XboX 360, because of better price (only $249 in comparison with few hundreds more in case of PS3) and more games available. @Choke point , i agree with you, This thing doesn’t seem very appealing . My opinion in general is that all new consoles right now are way too damn expensive and ill just stick with my pc and my ps2 with swap magic, until prices go down alot. 50+ dollars for every single game is ridiculous. I think i might even start collecting vintage consoles for now lol

Nintendo make great, original and fun games. I own a 360 with live and it’s great if I want to play some spotty American kid across the pond at three in the morning, but not so much if I want to play my brothers sitting next to me.
We still play the Gamecube for those insane party games like MarioKart, Monkeyball and Mario Smash Soccer so it’ll be getting one for certain.
Also most Nintendo games are done in a cartoony style so don’t need Hi-Def photo realistic graphics making comparisons to the other consoles a bit unfair.
