Seriously… How many times does this want to be released! I mean, sure, if it was a super hyped movie like The Dark Knight that’s okay, but a kiddies film? Come off it. I’m not even going to download any versions of this even it there are 20 of them!

Where’s the Indiana Jones 4 R5 already? There’s Wanted and Indie came out before that…

Rapidshare links? None of those links above contain them. Yes this movie sucks (I was bored out of my mind), but my kids like it. I have to keep them happy too, so this will be added to our HD collection.

I’m sure a lot of folks won’t download a movie unless it’s the x264 Bluray version, especially those who don’t use tiny monitors/televisions to watch them (tiny meaning anything smaller than 46 inches). Thus it doesn’t really matter if it’s been mentioned a hundred times over when it’s some crappy standard def XviD format, the home theater enthusiasts out there, such as myself, still want to know when the high def version shows up. Keep up the great work rlslog! :)

I see the movies in my 13 inches laptop. So there’s no need to w8 so much time for a decent release. R5 or best is fine! :p

sorry pt this site isn’t just for you. some of us have large tv’s that r5 look like crap on. I only get less than 720p when i’m desperate to see a movie.

  32. Cromwell
    July 29th, 2008 | 01:27

13 inch monitor? Sheesh, no need for R5. A cam release is all you need PT.

The Bluray x264 version has only been mentioned once. Pretty much ever single movie in that format has only been mentioned once on this site, which like someone else said is the main reason I come here.

PS: Gotta say NewTorrents going down really sucks. Normally there would be lots of seeds and peers on a 720p download like this one by now. Took forever to show up on TPB (loder) too. What a bloody mess.

    @ #51

I wrote this to a friend a few months ago. It’s a long read, but it should get you up to speed my friend…

An x264 rip will not play on a standard DVD player, nor do any DVD players even support the mkv format (well, none that I know of), so you cannot simply burn the file on a disk and play it. If you want to watch BR rips on a standard DVD player, you need to reencode it to an MPEG-2 DVD structure and then burn it to a DVD.

Now, before you say “screw that, I’ll just get the Xvid”, just know that converting it is very easily done by a program like WinAVI Video Converter and the end quality still blows away any Xvid rip by far.

If you just want to check out the quality, then simply D/L the BR rip, install a x264 codec (get CoreAVC Pro or the matroska codec pack) and play the file with either Windows Media Player, Zoom Player or my personal fave Media Player Classic. I guarantee you will never want to download an Xvid ever again. The quality really is that much better.

But if you are an adventurous person and want to try the DVD conversion, at least give it a go once just for the sake of your own knowledge. D/L a BR rip, install WinAVI 8.0, install a x264 codec (as mentioned above) and use the convert to DVD function in WinAVI. You’ll get a wonderful quality DVD in the end.

If you read all of this and still say “screw that”, then just understand that these rips are primarily aimed at people with HTPCs (computers hooked up to HD/Home Theater systems). In my case I use a laptop with an HDMI port and connect it to a 42″ plasma to watch HD rips, since I don’t own a BR player. The quality is unbeatable and Xvid rips will look like Youtube garbage once you go with BR rips.

Just some additional info for you – BR rips come in a container call Motroska with an “.mkv” extension at the end, which is the equivalent of an .avi or .mpg file. As long as you have one of the above mentioned x264 codecs installed, they will play very nicely in Windows with the above mentioned players. PS – if you have trouble playing them with the standard Windows Media Player, then download and use Media Player Classic, which has native support for .mkv files (regular WMP doesn’t unless one of the codec installs a splitter).

Anyway, just give it a try. Even if you decide BR isn’t for you, at least you then can make informed decisions about the file types you want to download in the future (i.e. if it’s a kick ass movie, get the BR, if it is teh suck, get the Xvid).
