Nightwish - Dark Passion Play (2007)
Well I thought I’d start by saying some stuff about me. My name is Christopher aka Doffy (yes I know Doffy looks nothing like Christopher, but it is actually a nickname here in Norway). Of course I love computers or otherwise I wouldn’t be here. My main interests are gaming and fixing computers. I also love music (who doesn’t), the genre’s I prefer are symphonic metal and commercial trance (which some people would call dance). I’ll be a new music editor here at Releaselog.
This album was released on September 26th, 2007 and has been up for quite some time now (5 or 6 days to be exact), but here the release details are, better late then never.
Finish symphonic power metal band Nightwish, released their most powerful album ever entitled Dark Passion Play. After firing their former singer Tarja Turune they are back with a talented singer from Sweden by the name Anette Olzon. You can read more about this album in our previous article here.

Great!! Finally RLSLOG will post some music i like too, not just Rap (which i respect but just cant listen). Doffy you’re more than welcome, and please post more releases of this kind of music even if its 10 years old, if it exists on the internet is enough. I mean, your doing this for the music, not for the fastest-news-on-the-internet. I’m a big fan of symphonic metal but still got a lot of search to do in order to fill my collection, and i,ve never heard of many artists so please, post anything you like, whether is new or old.

Just a NOTE. To all the people saying this is old. this is true. it has been out. BUT!!! Today is the OFFICIAL RELEASE of this CD. SO it’s good timing… maybe…. EVEN PLANNED!
It is not there best album, its actually a little boring and I deleted before finishing the album.

If it’s Symphonic, Operatic, Orchestral metal - please post everything you find. Please if you can, don’t stick with the ‘pop’ symphonic metal, that is stuff like Nightwish.
There’s a whole stack of other worth Symphonic metal that doesn’t get much attention, if you’re a true Metal fan and love the Symphonic genre, then you’ll focus on bands such as:

And others..
Please don’t fall into the trap that most of the ‘editors’ here @ Releaselog fall into - only posting Hip/Hop (oxymoron if I’ve ever seen one), Pop, et cetera.

A few good ones I like on the album, mainly the ones with Marco as the lead vocalist (such as Master Passion Greed and The Islander!) the but the 2nd disc is basicaly Toumas being all egotistical by doing an instrumental version of everything. I don’t blame him really, since he is the main guy behind Nightwish, and deserves to be able to do something like that now and again.
I said I was going to buy this (digi pack version) but the songs in general get quite boring and repetative after a while (but perhaps that is because I’ve listened to it an extensive amount of times allready?) Besides, listening to the instrumental cd would bore me to tears.
But, I will probably end up buying it.

Doffy, don’t worry about it. For a first post, the amount of errors was minimal. We all know you’ll get better over time. Just keep trying, you’ll get there.
In Metal Hammer, this album got 10/10, now, I tried 6 times to listen over for now, but after 3 or 4 songs I gave up, it makes me upset, to say the truth. How come that Tuomas decided to take in such a ok-its-educated-but-nothing-special voice? Was it so big load to find a girl who has got a different voice from Tarja’s, but more stronger than this one? Tarja was a goddamn hurrican. This chick is a little wind.
And who are you to judge me because of my sexual orientation mister? So what if i prefer men? That’s really nobody’s business but my own!
