Nightwish – Amaranth CDS (2007)
Released exactly on the same date when this compilation appeared in shops, Amaranth from Nightwish will surely be a blockbuster. Although not a complete album but rather just a compilation of few songs, this release has a lot to offer. The very specific metal sound of Nightwish songs became a huge success in last years and their new album won’t be different. Enjoy this pre-album release from group MAN.
“Amaranth” is the upcoming second single of the Finnish symphonic power metal band Nightwish from the Dark Passion Play album. A sample has been added to their official website. The single features a song called “While Your Lips Are Still Red”, which is featured on Finnish film “LIEKSA!“, to be released in September 2007. The song features all the band members but Emppu Vuorinen and Anette Olzon, and its video (with clips from the film) was released on June 15, 2007. The song itself, while not officially released yet, appears to have leaked onto the internet, though the exact date it leaked is unknown.

Everyone-
I am going to have to agree that this new singer for Nightwish is not all that good.
Her pitch is too high, doesn’t have the rich tones of Tarja (and definitly not the looks).
Part of what appealed about Nightwish was the mix of orchestra/metal/lyrics/singing and now with this new singer they have lost that appeal because it was part of what made them unique, an opera trained singer, professional orchestra music, a singularly profound sense of guitar, drums, mixed with piano.
Is there any other band out there in the world that has that sort of mix???!!!! Not really….
Nightwish is dead from what they used to be due to a singer that is mediocre at best.

and please, Blobster, don’t ever compare Evanescence to Nightwish…they aren’t in the same class….or at least they used to not be in the same class….Oh well, I guess you can compare them now……………………………………………….

i WISH they could change their vocalist to a male person, who’s got a strong heavy voice, too much this kind of “spicegirls” vocal sound in metal nowadays, anette’s voice is FAR from metal, the band itself plays still heavy thou…
