NewzCrawler v1.9 RC2 Regged-SQUNK

A scene group SQUNK releases another new application: an RSS reader called NewzCrawler. There’s a decent competition between RSS readers so this program has to offer something more: in this case, it’s a support for News servers (Usenet) and  a user-friendly browser window.

NewzCrawler is a rss/atom reader, news aggregator, browser and blog client for Windows which provides access to news content from various sources. It gathers news content from each source channel and displays them in a number of views: News List, News Balloon and News Ticker. NewzCrawler’s user interface is similar to an ordinary MS Outlook Express-like user interface. It supports many back-end headline syndication file formats and embeds web browser for extra fast news surfing.

The main difference from other rss readers is that NewzCrawler rapidly retrieves news from various web sources in background and displays them in comfortable customizable views. It is the only solution available that combines RSS, Atom, Newsgroups and Web pages in one application.

Product features:

  • Read news from various sources: ATOM, RSS, RDF, Usenet Newsgroups (NNTP), Web (HTTP);
  • Compose messages with full-featured WYSIWYG editor and post them to your weblog on any Blogger, Metaweblog, MovableType or LiveJournal API supporting website;
  • Browse actual news articles in the web using built-in browser;
  • Keep informed about the most recent news in elegant manner with News Ticker and News Balloon;
  • Synchronize your subscriptions and news read status using permanent or dial-up connection;
  • Email interesting news and web pages to your friends;
  • Search for news by keywords;
  • Organize news channels in a fully customizable tree structure;
  • Download podcasts and listen them in your favorite media player;
  • Use MS Agent characters for speech synthesis.

    has anyone used this and feedreader? I’ve been using feedreader for ages but it seems to run slow at times - is this better?

    I’m not downloading any SQUNK releases anymore. I don’t like apps loaded with malware, like with their recent Power Video Converter crack.

    oh you moaning people…

    the release is perfectly okay. the whole problem begins when you click on a download link posted here in comments, which is often hidden under the same name, but may actually contain only bunch of viruses, malware and other crap. if you have proper (scene) sources, you will never have to worry about a virus in any release posted at RLSLOG

    AV program says your keygen is a virus? Run the keygen in a sandbox (Sandboxie, a virtual machine, PC made from spare parts, etc). Go one step further and monitor both registry and hard drive changes to see if it truly is a real viral threat. Betcha 90% of the time you’ll find your AV program lied to you. Hmm, I wonder why…

    For those who blame squnk and any other grp with “malware” on keygen I would like to inform you its an epic fail. THERE IS NO MALWARE. The reason every sort of virus programs starts beeping on keygens/patches these programs these days requires to be registered with is because they have codelines which ALLOWS THEM TO MODIFY YOUR REGISTRY. Most of them doesnt have any problems but some of them does, even the remaining are harmless.

    Well, for starters forget about this RSS/News mashup and geta a real program for news, called altbinz. It’s on http://www.altbinz.net and it’s free for it’s 0.25 version. If you want the latest you become a contributor and get the latest version.

    You’ll see how it’s easy to leech on news, once you read the wiki there.

    Alt.Binz is a free and kick butt newsReader.

    I have NewsLeecher and its great, but $20 a year. I just got AltBinz and I cannot tell the difference as they both find the same stuff. AltBinz is open source and free so with my Giganews its the better deal.

    havent tested the power converter from SQUNK, but my kaspersky hasnt found anything when starting the patcher + setup-exec’s. I trust Kaspersky a LOT more than NOD32 and Norton any time!

    Keep in mind that some anti-virus programs think that a direct bit-manipulating program are looked at like viruses; even though they do not contain any malicious code.

    The SQUNK patch didn’t work for me either. I normally don’t trust random EXEs from links on forums, but I ran dutchie’s keygen in a sandbox just in case, and it’s fine.

    For readers of this page I generated a key for people that don’t trust the keygen:
    Registration Name: dutchie
    Registration code:
    jo]K!V\r-UVI_-BN&RBNMW]uo,$H,^RxXM%XxS-BQ-&Tq~Hv%KzAw{TATP,rWB!u-xzp^(`~yLN]SDGrG
