Hey guys !!! I am just a amateur in testing windows.. but based on the performance and User Interface Design.. Windows 7 is NOTHING BUT A UPDATE OF VISTA and I should say nothing beats XP…(I Tested with my QuadCore and ATI card)…any comments aganist me are welcomed

Also I just got this of ZDnet:
"Bott also notes the time-bombed expiration on Beta 1 is August 2009. Latest RTM date I’ve heard circulating is July. With no Beta 2 of Windows 7 on the schedule (according to my sources), it’s full steam ahead to final over the next few months."

fudzilla … it might just be Frudo tripping again, so I might be wrong.

@Seriously, what has MS to lose? Well, early preview of an OS might sink the final's adoption chances. Look at P@U| … that's what MS wants to avoid.

Showing a final product is one thing… showing a private beta to the public is another.

i tested it twice but didnt work fine
i get a problem with chkdsk or something like that
the first time it didnt let me install anything it said there was n error with disk, when i restarted it checked disk n deleted many files, then it worked nice.
for some reasons i installed again after formating n the same happened, but this time it kept going to the chkdsk once n again n gain
so i had to go back to vista
any one had this problem ? any solution ?

usen it now better than vista x32 but still cant beat xp . its as if microsoft just added a second patch to vista and this is the result . and to think they expect people to buy this as some amazing new o.s i think i'll just go get myself a mac or turn to linux when they stop updates for xp . screw you bill …

ohh and no problem with drivers just install driver with troubleshoot compatibility programme.

@subbywrx my system frozze to when i ran Updating of Base Score but i fixed it by updating display adapters in device manager and it downloaded some m.s update WDDMv1.1 .

I don't think Microsoft will lose too much money by having a bunch of "illegal" testers posting their problems with this OS. This is like stealing my sisters homework then doing it for her.

any evidence or source for what you are saying? microsoft couldnt care less if a beta "leaks", when everyone expects them to release a beta or Release Candidate 1 for everyone in January… just look with all the beta "wave" versions of the Windows Live Stuff they were releasing this year, and that partially was also "leaking" ahead of its official time.

Good state or not… this is not a new build but the former one renamed.

From now on ppl can kiss beta's bye-bye! That mens no more beta builds in jnuary baddab!

They've renamed it cause someone leaked it and it shouldn't!
This is also the reason MS will stop giving beta's to everyone they did before… most likely they'll keep a closed beta testing.

So use it… it's your last chance until final!

To everyone saying Vista failed, this is what Vista should have been…Windows 7 is in fact Windows Vista. It uses the Vista kernel (6.X) but has been improved (UI, performance, etc). The drivers used in Windows 7 are Vista drivers.

i really want to try this the system resources used by vista is rediculus, i poersonnaly av a really high spec pc and it doesnt dent into it too much but its certainly slower then it should and has between 1-1.5 gig of ram used always which is ridiculus to sya the least, this windows 7 looks promissing with its extremely low resources and min spec it should be a winner if its all done right, only problem i have with downloadng this beta is that theres no x64 version out yet and the .5gig of wasted ram not recognised by x86 really annoys me lol
