True Borderliner,

That said, the release speeds are terrible at the moment. Still waiting for Friday the 13th DvD Screener while the movie is out of the cinema's already. It seems they only end up on paid sites or something. Or the Pink Panther II. That movie is only on cam for now. No screener as well. The difference between this 'BD-rip' and 'dvd-rip' will probably just 1 week ?

You guys are missing an obvious detail - it's not about quality, it's about releasing speed. BDRips weren't thought up because they are better (which they might, but don't have to, be) but because BDs come ocasionally earlier than DVDs. Considering this the usage of TDX rules makes perfect sense - whatever comes first gets ripped first, but at to the same quality output. That's also why CAMs still exist - they come out earliest. Jut the lack of picture/sound is a lot more obvious ;)

@100 Almi: To me too. The BD rip has faded colors. But like someone said before, they not the same frame. Maybe someone put a light on in the movie or his head block light earlier.

for all the rest wanting to stop with DVD-rip...erm..why?

Can't there be room for both?

Lmao @ most posts.
These dumb ass comments coming from the rapidshare fanboys and kiddies is hilarious.
Xvid will continue to exist side by side with h.264 and DVD rips.
You want a DVDR then grab a DVDR rip.
Want a BD rip then do so.
Xvid and 700 mb rips have a big user base as exemplified by the large numbers of standalone players sold & being sold.
Not every one has unlimited bandwidth available nor uses their PC as a media center.. yet.

One last thing: if you take the time to R E A D the mod's post you'll see that the only reason he/she does BDRips is because some movies get released earlier on Bluray than on DVD...so instead of b!tching over stuff you don't clearly understand (such as video resolution), be grateful that someone is using their own precious time to find ways to bring you quality releases as early as possible for free.

Nobody is arguing there is probably a "better", sharper, uber superior format than what is currently popular. But some of us are just going for easy and convenient. There are probably 5 movies ever made that I need the best quality for. Smaller files means easier to download and, quite simply, is good enough a majority of the time. It's not that I'm "poor" or "stupid" that I don't need to download huge files of the best version in the proper format. I am amazed that people spend hundreds of [monetary units] a month to watch the same crappy TV shows and unoriginal movies in super quality. It's like polishing a turd. I'm glad the option is there, but I'm also glad the "good enough" material is around. For the record, CAMs and TSs are NOT "good enough". But if people want them, I don't really care.

Some of you guys just aren't that bright:

If you want FULL HD Resolution then download HDRiPS (Bluray, HD-DVD). What your boy means by using 'BDRip' means instead of downsampling a DVD movie to fit 700MB, he/she's doing it with an HD source. Common-sense: no matter how high the source resolution is, a 700MB rip from DVD and a 700MB rip from Bluray will look almost exactly the same...something the mod said as well.

BDrip means the source is from a Bluray disc...but common sense will tell you that 700MB is NOT an HDRiP. Also notice that unlike HDRiP and DVDRiP it's spelled BDRip...NOT BDRiP. Use your brains people.

im in a 3rd world country and i have 2mb broadband.
1-2Gb for per movie is not a problem...quality is becoming more important and xvid/avi aint cutting it no more. :D
