New and Improved Forums!
Well it took a little longer than we had expected due to some problems, however the Forums are finally back up again. We are now using vBulletin instead of IPB, and we have a different host which is located in the Netherlands. We are confident that forum speeds increased as of now. Martin has worked hard on moving the entire forums over to the new vBulletin board so we still have all the previous threads.
There are some things which you MIGHT have to do on your own however. If logging in dosen’t work like usual, try resetting the password and then logging in again. It is possible your avatar and signature are gone or different, but it shouldn’t be hard to fix for you. It takes a bit of time to get used to vBulletin if you haven’t previously used it, but I suspect most of you have.

I reset my password and it still won’t login. I have tried all 5 times and now have to wait 15 minutes.

I was actually about to get on your IRC, at the recommendation of a friend, and post a simple fix for IPB.
With the size of your site/forums, and the number of users constantly online, I’m pretty sure your problem was the default IPB structure. In MySQL the _sessions table is usually set to MyISAM so the data is written to disk every so often (which slows down seeks for reading other data, such as topics).
A simple fix for this is to change the storage engine of the _sessions table to HEAP (or MEMORY) so the data is never written to disk and simply remains in memory. This also improves security for sites of this nature. As simply shutting down the server completely wipes the list of users online at the time and what they’re doing (aka. evidence)
After resetting my password I appear to be able to login - good work!

Still, I don’t get the problem people have with releaselog making some money. At least he tells you straight forward that it is a paid review. So what if you have to scroll an extra 4 inches if you don’t like it…If that is your biggest problem in life, be happy.

hi a bit off topic have a update for vista “service pack 1″waiting to download ,just wondering if anyone with a pirate copy ov vista ultimate has had any problems after installing it. the update is windows released not that pre release one that was here a month or two ago .

Had to reset pass to get logged in but all good now.
BTW…miss the Patlog theme…..is Paddy’s Day really over for another year!!!
