Neuxpower NXPowerLite v3.6.2 Incl Keymaker-ZWT
Group ZWT released some hours ago this great software. It compress your Microsoft Office documents with a very good ratio. You will not have to use it if you only have a few documents, but if you have gigabytes you will save much space.
Good content takes up space. Even in small companies, large Microsoft Office files can cause significant storage, backup and transfer problems. In larger organisations these problems quickly scale up to become major issues.
NXPowerLite radically reduces the size of Word, Excel and PowerPoint files in seconds, with no discernible loss of quality – making them easier to use, store and share. It does this by removing any excess baggage and converting embedded graphics to the most appropriate file format and resolution.
Traditional compression methods, such as zipping, have little effect on image-heavy files – which is where NXPowerLite really excels. And with NXPowerLite, there’s no need to unzip your files before using them.
Files remain in their original format and retain all their functionality, so they can be opened and edited by anybody with a copy of Microsoft Office. File recipients do not need to have NXPowerLite on their machines.

I think WinZip and WinRAR compress Office docs rather well already. May not be quite like what is shown in the shortcut, but still substantially, not to mention they are more wide spread
Now if they also included PDF support then it would be a different cup of tea

winrar and winzip store the files in their compression formats, but this software stores the files in their original format.
it looks like a useful utility, but i don’t work on office documents much.

my god is this app every useless. with 500gb and 750gb, does one really need to compress MS office documents? cripes!

You do if you need to email them, especially some of the ones that I work with. Ive seen word docs that are over 100mb.
If you’re embedding large images into MS Word and want the documents to be portable, you’re doing something wrong (i.e. using the wrong program, or no nothing about image formats and compression). The correct approach is to create a PDF of the MS Word file, create a PDF of the image, then merge the two into the same PDF file, creating a smaller file size than is ever going to be possible with MS Word. Just use Adobe Acrobat… its a breeze. I was intrigued by this program, but considering only two of the 47,000 word files I have on my work system fall into the described category, I think I’ll pass!
iT will works if your document has a lot of images….
.zip and .rar is still the best for compressing big file.
This is a very useful program in the corporate world.
Especially when people embed pictures in to Powerpoint presos. Most people dont know they can compress the raw file they took with their digital cam into a jpeg before inserting it into their preso. I have seen 100MB ppt files shrunk to a few megs. This is very useful when you have hundreds/thousands of these on a fileserver, and you’re responsible for backing it up.

This software is fantastic, I will be looking at a multi license purchase or server. At least I was able to try before I buy. Trial versions suk.
