    Eset also found the file “Network LookOut Administrator Pro\bin\nladm\is-K5OTJ.tmp” to have “probably unknown NewHeur_PE virus”.

    Is it still safe to install? I’ve aborted the installation for now, just want confirmation.

    January 12th, 2008 | 16:01

    Well, when releases have viruses they get nuked. This release hasn’t been nuked, and as far as that one looks, it looks to be a false positive from Eset users.

    January 12th, 2008 | 17:03

    @20

    If you mean Network LookOut installation, I don’t see that anywhere I’m afraid. There is only the license agreement.

    AV software will pick up stuff like this, some AV software picks up Tight VNC as a potential threat.
    Try running suspect stuff in a sandbox (like Sandboxie) or a virtual machine.
    Personally I prefer Dameware NT Utils though.

  26. Not Stupid

    Apparently any antivirus with Heuristics activated WILL view this as a “infection”. This is just a potential threat that the scanner has deemed “dirty”. In other words, even in heuristics, this is a false positive. Yes, even in Eset, AVG, and CRAP like that.

    For everyone who is still suprised about virus scanners alarming them:
    This is a remote control software. So in principle.. this IS a Trojan.
    So its not a bogus download! Nothing wrong here.

    And thx for the post. I was looking for something better than RAdmin for a while now, maybe this is it.

    windows xp already has this functionality why would i need another program? specially because the person you are helping must have the program too, so if you are helping someone you would need to make the person install this first… useless

    @12
    You need to grow up. Yes be grateful you idiot, you may not like a certain release but others may have use for it and the fact that someone puts anything on this site is a selfless act and helps only US. Pull yer head in and go elsewhere. Love this site and hate seeing those type of people on here.

    January 13th, 2008 | 00:09

    Crack seems to work until I try to add a computer to monitor then it says that I don’t have the license to do that. Documentation that comes with the app is scant at best (as is their website). Dumped it in favour of crossloop.

    Hey,

    I’ve got it installed and working for now - but just as a precaution, are there any instructions for uninstalling the Agent? There doens’t seem to be any instructions on their website, and I have no idea where the files go when I used Stealth install.

    Thanks!
