ive got the patent acitvation error, but where as before just clicking cancel would let me continue, now in nerovision, it doesnt let me add files or anything. ive deleted that file, and i get the same results as tons of others, it does nothing at all ? ne1 else kno how to fix this, ive done tons of searching but seems to be no fix for it

Pardon me if I’m being an idiot, but I keep getting the ‘Third party patent’ message suggesting I buy the program for %10 off.

Is there an easy fix for this or not? I read through the whole thread and nothing is getting rid of this.

I find out a way to run “StartSmart”, if you are using Windows Vista make sure the UAC (user account control) is activated.

In this way I managed to run it.

Anyway I hope they correct this bug in the next releases…

I also get the smartsmart error “Warning: GetConfigSet() failed! – (line: 260, file.\NSSModel.cpp)”

I tried to configure Nero Home, it says it’s configured but the problem remains, startsmart won’t start…

Another question: opening nero express did you have the options to burn a securdisc-protected cd or dvd ?

Deleting the ‘PendingFileRenameOperations’ registry entry (from many places in the registry) worked for me. Make sure you delete all the entries.

I deleted PendingFileRenameOperations (the one that pointed to a temp file) and the install worked perfectly, thanks blkpnthr!

If you’re using Vista….try re-installing directX. Sounds funky, but I did some poking around and it might work. Hope it helps (probably not, but couldn’t hurt right?)

startsmart doesent work
i keep getting “Warning: GetConfigSet() failed! – (line: 260, file.\NSSModel.cpp)” when i try 2 start it.
does anyone knw how 2 fix this?
