- Driver Profile – What kind of driver are you? Driver profile tracks the player’s evolution as a race driver from event to event. This system is made up of a driver’s personality on the track, their success rate and any profile points and badges accrued all of which work together to create a tailor-made career and gameplay experience. Driver profile is pervasive throughout all modes: career and online.
- Dynamic Crash Effect – When the player hits a static object or opponent car, the player will feel like they are ‘taking damage’. A combination of visual and audio effects will leave the player disorientated and briefly disrupt the race.

Well works for me, running windows 7 professional x64.
Make sure that you copy all 3 files into the folder. Just doing the .exe wont do it. I tried just the .exe cause I didn't know where to put the other 2 but just put them in the same spot as the .exe file and it should work.
Although its odd cause I'm not sure how to get out of a race once I am in…just hitting the esc key doesn't work, or at least didn't for the very first race. Oh well good luck all.

I have the same problem as well! I downloaded the Megaupload links I receive an error message about the "rld-nfss.r00" archive being damaged or corrupted. I'm guessing the archives are corrupted… Going to try out the Rapidshare ones with Jdownloader.

I had the same problem after burning to a disc. Open the disc image (after mounting or burning) then run EASetup.exe it's installing for me now not sure if it will play by the sounds of earlier posts.

Finally fixed the game crash upon driving in the test lap.
I removed all the controller files (except keyboard/mouse) from the controllers folder. The game regenerates them, but it fixed my problem!

you have to install physx from the dvd-rom first, then install the game normnally.

I did what you said but no good, still crashes in test lap.
So, I was doing a test. I ran the game in compatibility mode (95) and then checked the affinity, because I had a thought.
Only one core was used and as soon as I selected another the game froze. That's why it doesn't work in normal mode (multi-core by default). 95 and multi-core is not meant to work (that's in our case). Yes, you can force it and it can work, but that's another story.
I'm going to reinstall my core optimizer (AMD) shiz and see if that does anything at all…

Yes. Get a advanced cab file fix. Take the corrupted cab file and fix it. Now, extract the ISO, replace the cab file and create a new ISO out of those files (with new cab). Then use daemon tools, install & play.
Did that, took some time, but worked like charm.

I'm one of the Windows 7 & ATi users with problems running the game. It crash after the first loading screen, no matter waht you do the screen goes black and nothing more happen. The only posible solution was to change the compatibility mode to Windows 98 but then the game run slowly.
I've have removed the RELOADED crack from the game folder, copied back the original exe from the game and used a MDS/MDF image of the game with Daemon Tools and YASU: now the game runs well without crashing anytime, either you have to set the compatybility mode. It runs at first glance!
This means for sure that the problem is with the medicine from RELOADED! Cheked.

Ok so the first gripe with this game is you cant quit out of races after you start them heck you can't even alt+f4 to quit the game only way to leave the game is to task manager it shut.
Logitech Rumblepad 2 is detected and half works in menus but once a race comes it doesn't work at all and then im stuck with arrow keys and that just doesnt work for a racing game with this much sliding around at 50 kmh.

I have to agree with Ghandi @ 301. This P.O.S won't even let you exit a race or the game for that matter. It also shows my logitech dual action usb mapped and strapped in the options but as soon as the racing jumps off it somehow goes M.I.A. This games physics feel very plastic, hollow and generic anyway. GRID and others feel solid and heavy. Another failed NFS if you ask ole Spiggity. Peace
solving gamepad issues: you have to define all the gamepad keys once manually in the options menu, although the menu shows them mapped. this means, you need to push each button in the gamepad menu.

This shift game could be quite fun, but it's unplayable with all those crashes. It crashes instantly for me at the start of a race.. I even tried to run it in compatibility mode with 98/ME, still crashes! Then tried to run it with original .exe with yasu and it STILL crashes!!!

Hello guys who have problems, I would recommend than you play with the default settings, just change your resolution as your wish, but don't change graphics (car, world…) detail, because your game could crash. The same happened to me.
I COULD play the game, with default settings, through the test run and 1st round. But it definitely crashes in the later game.

I already reached NFS world tour with 4 crashes so far, playing on 1280×1024 4x AA most settings at medium, shadows high. I am using the original shift.exe with the mini-image without compatibility settings. Playing on Windows 7 7600 x64.
Game is fine, only drift races are extremely frustrating.
i've a problem. i downloaded the game and installes it. i copied over the crack. i've xp sp3. when i started the game, i got some send error report. i did what littlelio said @328, it helped. the send error report doesn't come anymore. but when i start the game, i see it loads for two seconds then it crashes to desktop. Why?

i think the game crash caused system instability or vga overheat, in first play my watercooling system already hot after 2days full pc running, after change water shift run perfectly in my machine, core2duo+HD4850, setting @1680×1050 4xaa all set high, but still sometimes crash after long playing
I got this shift working with no crashes so far. I just changing periodically that graphicsconfig.xml file or w/e it's called like. Changing anything to 0 then after that in game options changing it back to my preferred settings with shadows/bloom and so on.

I've used a mini-image with VirtualCD with the same problems and crashes than the Reloaded's one. I through than it's not Reloaded's fault.
Let's just wait for a patch, I think than it will come out soon.

I dont know I have been playing since friday with reloaded crack and I am at level 3 right now and I still dont have any crashes and I play with graphics on maximun, I have windows vista x64, intel core 2 quad, 4gb ram, and geforce 9600gt, so maybe is your pc the one that crashes not the game

hi ,one way is the crash & other way is Laging like hell,what is this game anyway ? crash+lag. when i turn AA off game crashes ,try to turn it in 2X 4X 8X,i had no crash when AA is on but game lags

No crashes in windowed mode on win7 64bit ultimate.
Also, everytime it crashed I didn't get that connecting to ea online screen after selecting profile.

@99 tried that and windows 200 comes up "failed to initialize emulator". The game starts when i try it normally but as soon as i choose my name and try to login it crashes. The first time i got all the way to main menu then options then i crashed. lol. help please.

This may sound nooby, but you have to put all the files in from the crack folder in your install folder, not just the exe.
I did this because I thought the dll and bin were for their intro and the game didn't start but now it works.

There is a problem with the game and EA is currently working on a fix/patch for it. Apparently up to 80% of users are experiencing problems.
Windows7/Vista + NVIDIA users == Possible fix!!
I'm running Win7, installed the game and it ran fine all day. The next day I went to run it got a black screen. When I ran it in Compatibility mode the sound got real choppy.
But I was able to get it running again by doing the following:
1- Install latest drivers for video card.
2- Install latest DX9 runtime (Aug09)
3- Open the NVIDIA Control Panel and Disable PhysX
4- Delete the graphicsconfig.xml located in "X":\Users\user_name\Documents\NFS SHIFT folder.
5- Make sure game is not set to run in Compatibility mode.
6- Run game.

Got the game working again on win7 64bit with ati card
1. removed physx and installed latest version from nvidia website
2. removed all saves and started new game, I did not touch graphics settings at all, because they say it might cause problems.
or maybe its just good luck..

hi my laptop is sony vaio vgn-fw235 j
intel dual core. 2.0 Ghz and i think 2 mb buffer
its vga is intel 4500 , 128 dedicate , 1200 mb shared from ram total 1300 mb , and system ram is 4 GB
it original windows was a vista 64 bit, but i needed some 32 programs that didnt work correct on that windows , so i deleted that and i installed a vindows vista 32 bit.
i dont have any specific problem with the performance now.
but with this nfs , the game comes up , after the yellow progress bar and the first ea video , after the page that it says go to your local track and safety warning the game crashes.
i have tried all the above ways . like deleting config settings , setting all vga configs to 0 , and trying different cracks , trying compatibility mode .
none of them workd for me.
i have downloaded the tiny images , and deamon tools 4.30.4.027 lite and yasu 1.6.9040 , and original exe file.
when i mount the image in virtual drive of deamon , and cloak securom 7 with yasu , nfs still detects the virtual drive and returns this error ,
conflict with virtual drives is detected .
i have tried the option off secure mode on / off in deamon but no changes.
what should i do ?? i am tired of this errors .
any helps would be appreciated .

bought the game – cos single player runs like charm, now can not connect to EA nation
btw I am running, without problem on max settings (but only 2xAA). 1900×1020. pc specs are quad core 2.4ghz intel, 4gb ddr2-800, vista 32bit (yes i know can only see/use 3.35gb of ram, ATI XFX 4870 512MB (gddr5) runs with no lag and card stays coolish. 8xAA causes significant video lag though!
