NCIS S05E03 HDTV XviD-LOL

NCIS stands for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service of the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps. Some of you may have figured that NCIS is similar to JAG. Well it is, in fact. It was actually initially introduced in a two-part episode of the CBS series JAG. If any of you have watched the previous seasons of family guy, they said that only old people watch JAG because it’s pathetic and boring. If you are old, pathetic and boring you’ll also like NCIS. But is this really true or just a broad generalization ? Prove me wrong in the comments.

Gibbs and Mann team up for the investigation into a Marine Captain who had access to classified information. Things becomes increasingly complex when one of the witnesses is the man’s ex-wife.

I’m 29 and I watch it. I don’t consider myself too boring of a person and I’m definitely not pathetic. I like it cause it’s a little on the nerdy side at times, so that’s good for shats and giggles.

I’m 26, I like it. Good dynamic between all the characters, and it’s a pretty easy watch.

Though I DO live in Australia, and we’re not exactly spoiled for choice over here …

    Old and Boring? I disagree

At my school it is one of the most watched shows. It is a cut above CSI or law and order. Most of the actors are young not old guys and its hardly dull.

I live in New Zealand though and I think we might be a series behind lol.

Believe it or not, the only similarity between NCIS and JAG is the fact they center around the military. Over the five year span of NCIS, they’ve only had ONE character from JAG and that was in the second episode. This is one of my favorite shows, and I’m 23 (and a chick) and it’s got the handsome guy factor =)

This show isn’t really similar to JAG.

eh, I think this is one of the better CIS spin off. Best CIS is probably vegas or miami though. New York was horrible and boring.

I enjoy NCIS for the simple reason that is has interesting and colourful characters. Gibbs is the stern all-knowing father figure, Abby is the little sister with brains, Zeva is the hot girl next door, DiNozzo is the class clown and McGee is the braniac with a heart of gold. It is one of the best shows on TV. I admit I am a little behind in my viewing, but I enjoy it thouroughly and own all of the 3 seasons currently available in Australia.

lame lame lame, the leader so trys to be like Fellatio from CSI Miami, but fails in every way. Failed show, cannot even hack watching a full episode of this trash, Jag was crap and flopped, and this has too.
@1: As for “shats and giggles” yeah this is shat and I giggle at the crap acting.

This show is way way better than that same repetitive CSI and spin offs c.r.a.p. I liked CSI in the beginning, but it’s the same stuff over and over again. The acting is dull and uninspired, and NCIS owns them in every single aspect.

This is an example of a typical CSI episode—

    Intro

Dead guy found with a toiletbrush in his brain…

The chief says something smart…And looks in the camera..

Then the intro music with scenery starts playing. Who are you too too too too…bla bla bla …

The show starts, and you see the body laying on a table, for investigation. Smart remarks by the chief again….

Then they go to the crime scene, and investigate that…

Then they switch to the lab where they examine evidence…

Then they find evidence and arrest the person(S)behind the murder.

    The end.

    Boring.

    Blackeyedbearhawk,

    Just like “Law & Order!”

About ten years ago, I began telling my friends why, as an attorney, I respected the legal accuracy of the show “Law & Order” but found it to be far too repetitive, predictable & boring.

Since the formula’s damn near identical, I can paraphrase from your post:

    Setup:

One minute of alternate story line ends abruptly with…something like…

Dead guy found with a toiletbrush in his brain…

    Cue partial “Dum Dum” theme…

Detectives arrive, says something glib about the crime — Cut to intro music with scenery starts playing full “Dum Dum” theme…

    “Dum, de, dum dum dum…”

Detectives check with chief, begin canvassing neighborhood, find witness reluctant to talk, bring in for questioning.

    “Dum Dum”

    Commercial

Questining and investigation resumes; A.D.A. warns detectives about lack of evidence/method of investigation; fortuitous piece of evidence lands in detectives laps, arrest made…

    “Dum Dum” theme

    Commercial

“Dum Dum” INT. NY Crim Court, (name your part here)

Arraignment, motion to suppress, hearing on motion to suppress.

    Conference with A.D.A.’s, perp & perp’s attorney.

    Offer made

    Offer rejected.

A.D.A’s conference with veteran D.A. for few pearls of wisdom.

A.D.A. resumes prosecution with new found purpose.

    New evidence lands in A.D.A’s lap;

Detectives make another arrest of soon to be actual culprit

    “Dum Dum” theme

    Commercial.

Mini trial, short cross, semi-trite closing arguments…”has the jury reached a verdict?”

Glib remark by D.A. or A.D.A.’s while in office or walking out of court.

    Roll final credits.

NCIS is not only technically accurate, but procedurally accurate with regards to the interplay between Local Law Enforcement, Naval Civilian/Military Law Enforcement, Fed Law Enforcement & Military.

NCIS has a far deeper character development than most other shows.

    And most importantly:

THE F’N STORY IS NOT PREDICTABLE DOWN TO THE QUARTER HOUR AS TO WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!

    That’s my two cents.

NCIS is awesome. Why is it awesome? They headshot the lead female character in the last 10 seconds of season two! If that isn’t balls to the wall I don’t know what is.

Family Guy just plagrises The Simpsons tho the n`th degree anyhow so who cares what the writers of that show think..

..on the subject of NCIS, it`s not my favorite show but it`s at least better than a whole lot of the dross that airs these days.

People should reserve their venom for shows that deserve it like Top Model and Big Bang Theory.

My wife loves this show and I routinely download it for her as our DVR is already taken up recording Bones, House, Dancing with the Stars, etc. on both tuners. I can tolerate watching it as it is mildly funny and entertaining at times, but I’m not really into it. House and Boston Legal are the only things I care to see on Tuesday nights.

Re the OP’s comparison to JAG. My wife was similarly addicted to JAG, but she loves the procedurals. Bones, JAG, NCIS, CSI, CSI:Miami, House, etc.

That’s why they call it a “procedural.” LOL.

JAG and NCIS are brainchilds of the same producer… Donald Bellisario…

    From Wikipedia…
“After working under such television producers as Glen A. Larson and Stephen J. Cannell, Bellisario adopted some of their production techniques, most notably utilizing a small “pool” of actors which he uses for his many productions.

He has created several successful TV series, including Magnum, P.I., Tales of the Gold Monkey, Airwolf, Quantum Leap, JAG, and NCIS. Less-known creations include Tequila & Bonetti and First Monday. He was also writer/producer on Black Sheep Squadron and the original Battlestar Galactica.”
