Actually, if you break down the costs of a game, that $40 price tag for a PSP is then divided among several parties. You have shipping costs to get the game to the retailer. You have the mark-up that retailers use to make *some* money off of the game. You have the cost of manufacturing the UMD disc as well as the game case and manual. If i remember correctly, Sony only gets 50% of the retail cost, so if the game costs $40, they get about $20-ish. Then there’s the cost to pay the devs, marketing…etc…

Suppose you came here by accident hey jack? So you say support sony etc who charge everyone £50 etc when a cd/dvd costs peanuts. I know work goes into it but they make obscene amounts of money from it and when they have made enough then they offer it as platinum (cheap) so there still makin a profit but doesnt cost as much for us, why not offer it at that price first more ppl will buy instead of downloadin hence more sales so profits would stay the same. Look at the price for downloadin music (leagally) compared to buyin a cd, i mean a 100 blank cd’s at asda cost £9 so there shamless about takin your money and you want me to fall in line LOL!!! Besides im British and game makers make us wait months after a yank release before we see it so if it’s a choice between free and now or £50 in 3 months time i’ll take free now thanks.

Ok, I’ve now played both this game and NBA Live 09 on PSP. This one is much, much better. This includes graphics, too. NBA Live has horrible AI. For example, I was playing the world championship mode and the Japanese team would keep getting 3 second offensive in the key violations. There also wasn’t any commentary in this mode.
