MiRAGETV don’t appear on my radar that often, but when they do it’s always worth a watch. Their last pre that I watched was about Intelligent Design and boy did I learn a lot. People who have been watching the likes of Deadliest Catch should be interested in this release that appeared yesterday. It provides an inside look into what is happening with the animal life in Alaska region. Quality is nothing to complain about, with video bitrate being particularly superb. This is a very good way to spend an hour, but feel free to disagree…

Unexplained declines in many wildlife species have created A Mystery in Alaska.
The Steller’s sea lions that populate the Alaskan coastline are powerful, playful, and sometimes rowdy creatures who bump and jostle each other on land but acquire a sublime gracefulness in the water. They are also the subject of a strange and tragic mystery: Steller’s sea lions are rapidly disappearing from one of the last great wildlife strongholds of the world, and no one knows why.
Naturalist filmmaker Shane Moore, who has been working in the Alaskan wilderness for much of the past 10 years, brings a sense of urgency and new understanding to this puzzle in A Mystery in Alaska.
As scientists and environmentalists race the clock to find answers, pressure has been growing on Alaska’s fishing industry to suspend most of its pollock fishing, on the suspicion that it is robbing Steller’s sea lions of an important source of food. But new research illustrated in this film shows that a broad combination of factors could be responsible for the sea lions’ plight.

Theory of Evolution, yea right…if this was proven fact then it would no longer be a theory now would it? Admit it and be honest for once, BOTH of these claims (ID and ToE) cannot be proven as fact because BOTH of them are missing the important link…ID is missing proof of a superior being and ToE is missing any form of life that has evolved into another. And please dont use the Birds and Dino’s as proof as even Nature Magazine has shown where that was a farce. The pepper moths of England? Nope…two different species. Every test you can toss up and claim this proves evolution is a test that can be destroyed in a matter of a few minutes.
And I hope this is not yet another in a seemingly endless parade of items claiming the disproven theory of manmade global warming as if this is what they are trying to say, then they need to answer one improtant question..What caused the last Ice Age to stop? Mankind was supposedly not around then so that cannot be blamed on us, so if it is not cyclical, then explain what stopped Earth from being a frozen ball of ice. Fact is no one can explain this and until they can they cannot with any seriousness claim that Mankind is causing the recent warming..especially since Volcanos put out more greenhouse gasses on one blow then Mankind has done in a thousand years according to Vulcanologists. And the larger the eruption the more that is tossed out. Mt.St.Helens tossed up more greenhouse gasses in one eruption then mankind has since we have been on the planet times 5, and let us not forget the volcano in the Carribbean islands that has been erupting constantly for the last 5 years and has destroyed an island, or the one in Hawaii that has been erupting constantly for the last 150 years…so much so that Hawaii is not only getting 500 miles of new land, but another completely new island will emerge from the ocean in less then 100 years in that chain.

In trying to call iX out all you’ve done is exposed your own inadequacies - he didn’t state his opinion on creationism one way or another, and if you really think watching a documentary about a particular subject makes you a believer in whatever’s been discussed, well, I don’t imagine there’s much anyone could say to dissuade you from your ill-informed fanaticism.

People like Dan are annoying - they don’t understand the scientific use of the word theory. They seem to think a Theory is the same as a Hypothesis. The Theory of Evolution is just as valid as the Theory of Gravity.
If he really could destroy The Theory of Evolution in a few minutes, he’d be one of the most amazing scientists of our time. But, he’s just talk.

Ok simple test. Show ONE animal that has evolved into another and show a line proving same. If you three are right and I am wrong, then this should not be hard..right? And Wikipedia is NOT an option as anyone can edit that.
So put up or shut up. I already know ID is not a valid porsition, but I also know that evolution is not a proven fact either and anyone that thinks it is when they have to keep changing the whole set up with new discoveries, has more problems then can be fixed…and all of them mental. Asking for “proof”, just like claiming Evolution is just a “theory” (in the colloquial term) is disingenuous. Science deals with supporting evidence of hypotheses.
As a previous poster pointed out, gravity is also just a “theory” but has a massive amount of supportive evidence, much like Evolution.
In answer to you’re request for an example of a transitional fossil - Archaeopteryx.
Because it displays a number of features common to both birds and dinosaurs, Archaeopteryx has often been considered a link between them—possibly the first bird in its change from a land dweller to a bird.
The key words are “considered” and “possibly” you have not provided proof, just speculation. I can provide the exact same thing in using the walking catfish to prove that all fish evolved from land animals. Just because some say it does not make it fact. I would like just ONE documented set in stone proof that evolution is a fact and not a theory.
And why is asking for proof of evolution disingenuous? Dont evolutionists ask for the same proof from ID believers. My point is that there is NO documented proof of the existance of either one, just as there is NO documented proof that mankind is the sole reason for Global Warmning as some have tried to say over and over.
You are going to have to go a whole lot farther in providing factual evidence before this debate is going to be over, at at present, no one has the proof that will close this debate on either side.
Refusing to recognise evidence and arguing semantics is not how a “debate” works I’m afraid.

ID is not science, perhaps scientific philosophy, but not science itself. And we shouldn’t entirely accept or reject Evolution Theory because some ideas (like the biological mechanism behind the diversity of life) are well-established among the science community while others are pure speculation (like how fast/slow evolutionary process occurs.)
Scientifically, evolution is a theory like gravity, not a fact. In lay-terms, it’s a fact, not a theory, like gravity.
Sorry Forral, when confronted with debate; you turn and run. Not very much proof of your ideas I would say.
And Wah, gravity is a proven fact, all you need do is test it by dropping something. Thus it is not and never was a theory. Evolution on the other hand is still a theory as you cannot show a transitional species and thus prove it is fact. You can make all the claims you wish, but until you can produce a transitional species, then it will be nothing more then a theory. You can show all the supposed species you want as well, but until you can provide one that is living and able to be tested and proved, again it is all theory. Sowing animals thousands of years in the past is not a valid defense as there is no way to test it, dna degrades and carbon testing and the like have fallicies and are not proof positive.

Steve, I’m not sure what your asking for. You want to see a transitional creature alive now? Everything alive today is in a transitional phase, but no one can see the future to see what everything is going to evolve into.
I think you want to see a dog with tiny wings which is evolving the ability to fly but it doesn’t work like that I’m afraid.
