National Geographic Inside the Taliban WS DSR XviD-SYS

National Geographic Inside documentary series offers a rare look into cultures we don’t often get invited into, such as North Korea. This particular edition is on the Taliban. A notorious regime emerges from the rubble of years of fighting in Afganistan. Meet the men who helped create the Taliban. Afghan survivors explain how these Islamic holy warriors first brought hope, then only repression and fear. Former spies reveal how the United States have driven the extremists from power after 9/11. But now the Taliban are back, deadlier than ever. Spanning almost 30 years, the epic story behind the Taliban under the veil of three men: a one-eyed religious mystic, a legendary military strategist, and the most famous terrorist alive. The rise. The fall. And the rebirth of the Taliban. Please try to keep the troll-comments to a minimum, thank you.

Im not trolling or nothing, but I feel uncomfortable around people i know who are Muslims because of all this, I just can’t be certain what they believe, if they actually support terrorism or not.

Nah, don’t feel like trolling today…

Taliban or American soldiers, both are fighting for the wrong reason/beliefs and for the wrong leaders. And bobby, if you’ve been f*cked with all your life you’ll be supporting the fight for freedom/terrorism (depends which side you’re on) too. People suck, religion doesn’t perse.

  14. cleftasunder
    July 2nd, 2007 | 06:40

Bobby, there are over 1.5 billion Muslims in the world. If Islam was truly violent then don’t you think there would be more incidents? lol
Peanuts, Deers and Lightning has killed the same amount of Americans as terrorists since the 60’s.

  15. bobby
    July 2nd, 2007 | 07:36

Well, not all of them would do terrorism, but they might not disapprove of it either. I saw a lot of footage of Muslims celebrating in the streets after 9/11…they wouldn’t all participate but they sure are quick to cheer it on. And Americans don’t support terrorism of any kind spaceb, we do not support purposeful killing of innocence purely because they are of a different religion….but we might not go out of our way to preserve innocence while destroying our target :-/ but that’s war.

Now terrorists are bombing London…do you hear many Muslim groups/organizations coming out to speak against it…i think not.

    i´ll vote for QuadrupelQ

and bobby, i saw 300 neonazis celebrating hitlers birthday 2 years ago on our streets, surrounded by 600 policeman .. doesn´t make my whole country to nazis ;p

media just sucks, they hype the whole bs

  18. July 2nd, 2007 | 08:31

This show provides LOADS to take in about the problems Afghanistan is facing. The rabbit hole just keeps getting deeper, the more you learn about the situation. It’s just not a pretty picture there anymore.

    @ Mr.x

in response to your posts on the SS and Taliban(great show, downloading the SS one now)you are so blind by your misguided ideals that you fail to see the big picture that the goal of these muslim cults is a sharia law empire(caliphate)from indochina to the iberian peninsulas is simply unacceptable, some muslim cults in europe(muslim EU citizens)even express openly that outcome for northwest europe. And its ok to critic my gov. foreign policy(weather i think ur right/wrong)but stop talkin shit about my country.

Muslim world is the poorest, most illiterate, backward, unhealthy, unenlightened, deprived and weakest of all the races. I don’t have to defend these words because I didn’t say them. Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf did at a science and technology conference(h**p://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/1824455.stm). Good job Pervez. The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.

i just don’t get it. all i see is generalizations. stupid americans and terrorist muslims. sorry, but arrogance, self-importance and self-certainty seems to be a bad mix, and knows no boundaries; whether it be nation or religion. the american gov’t is in serious need of a thorough bleaching(only problem being that this will make ‘em whiter than they already are), while the muslims need to root out the nut jobs. muslims ain’t bad people, anymore than americans are, anymore than europeans are. but, we all become misguided when we search for scapegoats and stop looking to where we might find our own personal blame to this international problem. extremeism is dangerous–religious extremes, political extremes, as well as grandious extremes of being above the sh#t that comes out of each and everyone of all of our backsides and faces.

i read in national geographic magazine that 46% av the american population does not believe in evolution? that “god” created us as we are now roughly 10,000 years ago? should they even be allowed to have opinions and thoughts?

good post, i think i’ll watch it.

    @Bobby

Yes, muslim groups/organisations are speaking out against the new “terrorist” activity in the UK.

Those “bombs” found in the cars in London didn’t have a detonator. There was no oxidizer which could have ignited the gas. Pressurized gas cylinders have a fail-safe to prevent them from popping if the pressure inside gets too much.

Worst case scenario? Jets of flaming propane.

Best case scenario? More budget to spend on defence.

    @ fango:
so with your “god” theory there are no missing links? try using your brain just for a second. grasp the reality of life, the world is a lot bigger and more complex than the united states!
    honestly…

i thought 46% was raaather high. that’s almost half the population! no wonder you’re at war.

    cheers

hugo i can care less if you believe your great x25 grandfather was a lung fish, that’s your weird problem. To just come on this site and insult Americans, has me wondering why? If that kind of hate is in you, what would this world be like if you had control of a few radicals or a vast military? I hope you would use your brain and grasp reality.

More Europeans see the United States as a threat to global stability than Iran and North Korea combined, according to a poll published Monday.

The Harris Interactive survey for the Financial Times showed that 32 percent of more than 5,000 respondents in five European countries — Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Spain — regarded the United States as the biggest threat to stability.
