Nas – Greatest Hits (Retail) (2007)
Nasir Jones (born September 14, 1973), known simply as Nas, formerly Nasty Nas, is an American rapper from the East Coast. He is well known for his 1994 debut album Illmatic, which many consider to be one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time. This album established Nas as one of hip-hop’s most profound lyricists, introducing his signature poetic style. Raised in the notorious Queensbridge housing projects in NYC, he represents a continuation of a hip-hop tradition in Queensbridge that has spanned through early hip-hop, including the Juice Crew, Marley Marl, and MC Shan.
Following Illmatic with It Was Written, Nas pursued a more mainstream direction, which resulted in wider success but decreased artistic credibility among critics and hip-hop purists. Nas’ increased commercial success was accompanied by stylistic changes that fostered accusations of giving in to corporate wishes and compromising the style that had enamored his fans. Nevertheless, the album Stillmatic is often credited for restoring Nas’ credibility among fans. Since the success of Stillmatic, Nas has continued to maintain a high profile within the hip-hop community and has pursued a decidedly personal aesthetic.

Columbia Records are set to release a compilation of rapper Nas’ Greatest Hits on November 6, 2007, which will go head to head against Jay-Z’s American Gangster album dropping on the same day. Nas’ album will feature twelve of Nas’ singles from his Columbia releases from Illmatic to Street’s Disciple and two new tracks. The collaboration made with Cee-Lo for the Rush Hour 3 soundtrack is expected to be included.

Got much love for my peeps, but — JAY Z is a God. I got nothin’ on him. That mofo can spit. The only thing I spit is man’s –
No issues with Rapidshare for me. Downloaded fine using free via cogent.
Sounds like a good album, already got Jay-Z’s, might as well get this one… Also, I’m downloading the Be.Kind.Rewind.DVD.SCREENER.VoMiT that I found on the pirate bay… Can anyone confirm if it’s real? The sample i feel may in fact be from the trailer (the scene where Black sing the “Ghost Busters” theme song that he makes up, then you see a tiny split second of the next scene where you see them outside… I’m unsure, but the info looks real on it… Anyone help me out? Sorry to get sidetracked with this
wen i try with rapidshare it stops in my dl manager dunnow why?? i aitn a premium user used too work
‘one mic’ is such a lyric!
this was meant to go with that;
Jesus died at age 33, there’s thirty-three shots
from twin glocks there’s sixteen apiece, that’s thirty-two
Which means, one of my guns was holdin 17
Twenty-seven hit your crew, six went into you
a “best of” Nas without Represent?
one of the top 5 classic songs in hip-hop, every hip-hop fan in the world knows that song and it’s his best along street dreams (regular version)imo
Nas-Greatest_Hits-Advance-2007-UKP is slightly better… contains more tracks
Can’t believe they didn’t include I Gave You Power.
Love it, grabbed this earlier, why do people use Rapid share??? Soo slow!
Nas’ greatest hits is basically illmatic nothing he did after that alnum was any good.
This greatest hits is crap, there are at least three songs from his first album “Illmatic” that should be on here…most notably “THE WORLD IS YOURS” which even if it’s not his best song (though in my opinion, it is) it MUST be included in a hits collection. Nas + Pete Rock!!! It only happened once!
Whoever compiled this CD has no credibility at all…
