Well there’s nothing like a big “fuck you” from a scene group every now and then, and that’s just what we have here. We know that a lot of groups steal from P2P and mVs promises to not be one of them, but I’m not sure if I want to believe that, although they might not do it as much as all the other groups I think they do it every once in a while. They also bring us a sample of the new Narnia movie, so maybe we can expect the whole this sometime soon. BTW the last paragraph mentions that they want proof that the AR was more than 10% off, well here it is: your rls was 624×240 which has an AR of 2.6:1, while the proper AR should be 2.35:1, which means the AR is off .25 which is 25%, so pwnd :D Might want to learn how to do simple math before arguing…

    There is no sound prob because they either dont have it yet, need to sync it or waiting for a new source…..

    Looks ok for a TS if thats what it’ll get labelled….

    It started in US on 16th and a few counties week before so very quick really!

    marceli is at tw@t, and i have been mentioning this for a while now on previous posts. Thankfully he saved me from having to do this anymore. He acts like he carries some weight around here, but in truth he knows fuk all. By far the biggest idiot on this site.

    mVs thank you :) cant wait to see full rls, the quality looks great.

    ps you cannot truly work out the correct AR on a cam release, surely that is obvious. I think the easiest way to prove this is to look at the fim itself. One of the best cams i have seen for a while, with no “egg” or “fat” heads and no noticeaable crop…….. just my opinion.

    Did anyone notice there is a flaw in the math of Marceli?
    I have been trying it for hours now but it’s a real brain-teaser. Maybe someone should contact mVS to get around the table and figure this out and post the outcome on the board.

    Hope this will ever be solved..
    In the meantime I’ll be looking out for a DVD-RIP of Narnia tho..

    It’s not all that uncommon to compare percentages by simply adding/subtracting them. How often do you see news reporters using division to compare percentages?
    “Today support for canditate X went up with 10.6% from 35% to 60%”

    Although Marceli should have clarified that he was talking about percentage points, the funniest posts here are the ones apparantly unaware of the concept of percentage points.

    your all right, Marcelli is right when he says 25% because he means that the horizontal resolution is 25% higher than what it should be, in reference to the vertical resolution.

    on the other hand it’s also 10.6% higher, in reference to the expected horizontal resolution.

    in my opinion, since where talking about 2 dimensions, the AR is in fact off by 10.6% because thats the number you get when you use both dimensions:

    (2.6*1)/(2.35*1) = 1.106 = 110.6% -> off by 10.6%

    The bottom line about the math:

    • Go to Google.com.
    • Type in 2.35 + (10.64% * 2.35)
    • Result = 2.60004

    Which means the AR was off by 10.64%, not 25%, 9.4% or any other number. Think about it; if you have $2.35, and you get 25c more, you’ve gotten >10% more since 10% of 2.35 is obviously 0.235. Thus, the correct offset is 10.6%.

    Ratios are fractions people!!! 2.6 is 2.6 OVER 1! 2.6/1 and 2.35/1 so the source AR of 624×240 is 624 divided by 240 equals the 2.6 so the cropped AR 2.35 would be 564×240 so the video is only 60 pixels off and 60/624 would give you the percentage off by pixels, whjich is only 9.6 % difference in pixels so i would say that IS under the 10% rule.

    There is ONLY a 9.6 % pixel difference when you convert that to a ratio it will stay the same!!!! Thats what a ratio is, a representation of a fraction converted to a decimal the ratio will stay the same at any point of the conversion and that’s a basic mathematics LAW. So instead of trying to get the % difference using fractions (ratios) convert back to pixels and the differences maintain and you will see only 9.6% difference in pixels!

    In this case 2.35 is the standard not 2.60 as you have calculated. Back to school.

    What you are not getting is that 2.60 AR actually represents 624/240 and 2.35 represents 564/240 so if you subtract 564/240 from 624/240 you get 60/240 which is 1/4, that’s where you keep getting the 25%, but all that 25% is saying is the width difference is 25% of the height ( 60 pixels cropped off width, height maintains at 240 pixels) that isn’t the AR difference. And at # 262, the 2.35 is the incorrect AR so how is it the standard? The standard (correct) AR is 2.60, so 564 is only 90.4 % of the correct 624. (remember in math the word -OF- always equals multiply) So if you multiply the correct 624 times 90.4% you will get the 564, if you did it your way and multiplied the 624 by 89.4% you only get 558 pixels which is 2.3244 AR NOT 2.35.

    You start out with a ratio, not a percentage. I will skip over the ratio part to simplify.

    624×240 the proper should be 564×240

    math to find proper (2.35*240 and 1*240)

    624-564 = 60

    What percentage of 564 is 60?

    60/564 * 100 = 10.6%

    Thus, 624 is 10.6% more than 564

    Your calculation takes the AVERAGE of the two numbers in the denominator. That will give the percentage difference of the AVERAGE of the two. THAT IS WRONG!!!

    If the AR was truly 25% off, you would get something like 1.76:1, which is considerably less than a widescreen TV AR.
