Nanking Nanking 2009 DVDRip XviD-PMCG
Interesting new movie has been released by P2P group PMCG. Nanking Nanking is a 2009 Chinese film directed by Lu Chuan, marking his third feature film. The film deals with the Battle of Nanjing and its aftermath (commonly referred to as “The Rape of Nanking” or the “Nanking Massacre”) during the Second Sino-Japanese War. Watching the trailer and sample I’ll give this a try as it looks very good. PMCG releases a nice 2cd rip with subs included!
City of Life and Death takes place in 1937, during the height of the Second Sino-Japanese War. The Imperial Japanese Army has just captured the then-capital of the Republic of China, Nanjing. What followed was known as the Nanking Massacre, or the Rape of Nanking, a period of several weeks wherein hundreds of thousands of Chinese soldiers and civilians were murdered. The film tells the story of several figures, both historical and fictional, including a Chinese soldier, a schoolteacher, a Japanese soldier, a foreign missionary, and John Rabe, a Nazi businessman who would ultimately save thousands of Chinese civilians.

Though the Nanking massacre is still a controversial issue till today, even the Japanese government has accepted the fact that the population of the area was killed (they deny the fact brutally,rap3d or whatever).
As you should know, Japan during WW2 (as well as lots of other countries of course) committed war crimes and crimes against humanity, so it shouldn't be surprising that they performed all those atrocities during the Sino-Japanese war of 1937-1945.
Of course this movie, it's gonna be exagerating in some points, the Chinese aren't the most free people on the planet, "propaganda" like this is just even below their standard methods.
As one pointed out, American movies are equally/more biased when it comes to war movies concerning them.
I, for one, will download this one; it looks interesting enough and it's bound to have action combined with human stories.

I can confirm there is truth in this. The Japanese were very savage during the war not only to china but to all places they have passed through. Regardless, no one is a saint during war. This should not generate hate as all are savages during war.

I was under the impression that Nanking was settled history except for the Japanese, who'd like to forget the war completely (except as far as they see themselves still victims of it). Watch the film. If you don't agree, or think it's propaganda, try to read something on it.

I totally agree with you that all wars create savages out of men. There is also a point to be made that some of this Nanking anger is stoked by the communist party for other purposes. However, there is genuine hatred and remembrance in many peoples of China as well as Korea and Indochina for what the Japanese did during that recent war. One of the major obstacles to overcoming this is the fact that many in the Japanese governement and Japanese people think that this is all bull crap from the their neighbors instead of historical facts. Only time and more education on both sides can heal this wound.
To who wants to learn about this more but are afraid that this movie is full of propaganda, I saw a really good film called Nanking (2007) from America that uses historical footage and interviews. It won numerous awards and is genuinely interesting. The movie is free and full on an imdb link.

I liked the first doc "Nanking" (2007) better, it had more interesting people stories of the Germans who saved a lot of Chinese families simply by being associated with Axis powers. This was kind of fluffy in comparison, but that's the movies for you.

Where you stand on a propaganda is pretty much depended on where you seat. For propaganda to work, it needs to based on factual events. To those getting Chinese characters on their subs, try using a video player like VLC and change the Subtitle language option to English.
I was playing this on Media Player Classic and it kept showing Chinese subs.

I managed to get the dual language subtitles to work in Windows Media Player by changing a preference in DirectVobSub. Double-click on the tray icon and set the 'Miscellaneous tab, General Settings box, Laguage menu' to English.
erm… i try importing it in VLC but an error appear stating there is an error in the log.. pls check the log.. i couldn't find other alternative or solve this prob… damn

I won't deny that Tibet had its own issues. But to say what was replaced with by China's version is something better is foolish. I imagine you are Chinese, either living in China or abroad, but have you not seen the -legitimate- photos/videos where Tibetans are beaten, shot, and tormented just for existing? I mean China is even practicing ethnic genocide by means of importing Han Chinese en mass in order to dilute the population so that they can have 'democratic' control in a few decades. I also believe that the CCP has a saying of "Don't meddle in our affairs". I believe that too would apply to Tibet. China has a gross issue of double standards where the rest of the world must apply themselves to China's standards, lest face "payback" down the line, but whenever China is caught breaking their own standards they claim it is only because the "west" is doing it.
China has grave issues in regarding to personal freedoms. I've seen the stories sent out by Chinese bloggers who reveal the faked/paid official surveys of living standards, where citizens are intimidated or beaten for going through the appropriate channels of filing complaints &/or reporting corruption, how anything but strict adherence to the CCP-influenced social code is just short of treason. I don't even need to go into the butchering of prisoners to harvest organs, the documented torture of political dissidents/prisoners (see: that horrible human body exhibit traveling the US where people are naive enough to believe that the people who 'donated' their bodies really weren't prisoners.
People please stick to the subject at hand which is Nanking and ONLY Nanking. Whether you like China's or Japan's current policies on any other issues is not relevant to the topic. This is not a contest to see whose ballz are bigger.

You seem like a person that just thinks the Chinese government is pure evil, and I totally agree with your sentiment that there are PLENTY of things wrong with the Chinese government and policies; but I also understand that the country is still developing, and that the government has also done good things such as uniting a desperate war torn people and lifting hundreds of millions out of poverty.
