My favorite reality series, the MythBusters. A ’special’ episode, titled ‘Baseball Special’ . Some of the myths/urban legends tested focusing on the topic of baseball related are:
- A baseball bat filled with cork can hit a baseball farther than a normal bat.
- A dry baseball can be hit farther than a ball stored in a humid environment, which is why baseball teams that store their balls in humid environments suffer from lower home run averages.
- A fastball (pitched overhand) can lift itself higher into the air.
- On bases that you can’t overrun, it is faster to slide into them.
- A baseball’s stitches can tear and the hide of the baseball will fall off if the baseball is thrown fast enough and hit hard enough.
Note: wikipedia, and some others say that this episode is titled Baseball Myths. As you can see from the below screenshot, and from the MythBusters on the show themselves, this is a ’special’ listed episode. Therefore some need to check the actual episode before they put it on the mythbusters season 5 wikipedia page. We also have a dupe release by K4RM4, on some trackers. I would suggest to download the K4RM4 release, just because in general their quality is better than CRiMSON. This rip by CRiMSON is not exactly something as high quality as a mythbusters rip by DGAS or 2SD.

Hey Mr.X I figured you do the documentary type shows, so do you know where I can find “Ultimate Hippo” ? It was on National Geographic last nite, Sat. @ 11 pm, and I missed it. Not only possibly the greatest documentary on Hippos of all time, but sexiest for sure, and I can’t find the show anywhere on the net
. And if you get a chance to see it, you should review it, cause it will forever make you love the Hippo.
