This documentary is hilarious for a few reasons - fat, ugly old men who can’t get girls in their own country go to Venezuela for ‘the girlfriend experience’, and this one guy on there ‘Bob’ is so fat that it’s funny. If you’ve ever seen Trailer Park Boys in their last season remember Phil Collins, how fat his gut was. Bob’s is just like that. But then there is the serious side to the documentary. The girls who work in the resort are not doing the work because they want to; but more because they have to. Either they need the money to support their families or for some other reason. I watched this last night, I would encourage people to watch it too.
The women get $80 of the $200 a day the guests pay to stay there and are happy to take the cash but have little time for the guests.
Fat Bob (as they call him, and that’s one of the nicest names) came across as one sad man, the shame of it all is that he’s not a minority.
The thought of spending two weeks at a resort and getting to sleep with a different woman each night (with a bonus of two women one of those nights) might seem to be a dream for most men. However when you see what the women say behind their backs, you will probably change your mind.

You are naive if you think you an rid the world of prostitution. There are areas of the world, many many areas where people are forced into prostitution and of course that is wrong. While I think the visitors to this resort are sad, I would rather them visit here rather than places where the girls are forced to work.

I havent seen the show yet but I am in thailand now. There is hardly if any forced prositution. The women here have a choice. they can do manual labor or lay on there back for a few hours a week and make the same amount of money they could in a month. A lot of the girls come from very poor suroundings and they know it would almost be imposible to climb the social ladder ( a social ladder is for vanity). There only hope is to make a go at prostitution . I chose this place to vacation because I can live like a king . prostitution is pretty much the same here as it is in the USA . The sad story of suporting there family is highly exagerated and they all pretty much say this so you wont look down on them .The Media is usually full of crap about the exploitation of the sex trade. they will tell you anything you want to here as long as they have your atention.Oh that poor 14 year old girl forced to have sex. in reality she is 23 and was paid by the media to lie .

I thought it was great to show this programme which was more or less through the eyes of the girls that work there. They really hated the old fat guys who were also really demanding. They also didn’t like having to visit other places and be seen with the customers and people knowing full well they were prostitutes ‘hanging out with old fat’ men as they said. One of the men was a little bit more considerate and understood the plight of the girls. If anyone believed in a million years that girls enjoy this sort of work they would soon be corrected after seeing this film.

Caught this last night over here in the UK on TV. Great documentary which despite bordering on comedy at times, glimpses at the unhappyness of girls in the sex industry. Look ing at many of the girls I’d say they were abused as children, as are 90%+ of girls in the sex industry.

What you saw on the programme was a very slanted, and cleverly edited version of the real events.
$80 per day is between 8 and 16 times the normal wages in Venezuela. These girls are making very good money from the tourist trade.
