On what looks like to be a very boring Saturday I though of posting this more unheard of movie My Boy Jack. The only actor from the starring list is Daniel Radcliffe and this movie got some pretty good ratings so I might give this a watch. A rather low resolution on this one (592×336) which is something that always pissed me off about the scene but maybe the DVDR will come around soon. Usual audio with 128kbps bitrate and no subs.

The year is 1913. War with Germany is imminent. Rudyard Kipling(David Haig), the British Empire’s greatest apologist, is at the peak of his literary fame. This movie explores the nature of a man who loses his balance when devotion to family and country clash. World War I breaks out, and Kipling’s son, Jack (Daniel Radcliffe), is determined to fight, but the Army and the Navy both reject him because of his extremely poor eyesight. Undaunted, Kipling uses his influence to land Jack a commission in the Irish Guards, sparking off a bitter family conflict. Jack goes to war and is reported missing, believed wounded, in his first action. The Kipling family live in vain hope for two years, before finally learning of Jack’s death. The effect on Kipling is profound and irrevocable, as he struggles to confront his appalling sense of guilt and loss.

    I grabbed the torrent link from post #3. Its in english (as opposed to the russian links), so thanx dirkpeter.

    Just finished watching it because this time change screwed with my sleep schedule. Read this… Regardless of the spoiler in the description (which didn’t affect the impact of watching it), this movie is VERY moving. How the characters acted in this one made this one worth recommending to everyone I know. Daniel Radcliffe plays his character very nicely. I believe he will gain clot as an A-List actor.

    I hope I typed this very well as I mentioned, it is very late and I won’t spell check.

    I recommend this highly!
