Music and Lyrics DVDRiP XViD-DEiTY

Here is a movie that I think many of you would like to check. A comedy starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore with a decent IMDB rating. Group DEiTY has brought out some good DVDRiPs, 3 weeks before official US release date, that’s fast! You can remember group “DEiTY” from their “proper” release of “Smokin’ Aces” on 1 CD. Enjoy!

Alex Fletcher (Hugh Grant) is a cynical and self-deprecating former pop idol (the hilarious opening video introduces his ’80s new wave band Pop!) who is now playing the nostalgia circuit, but has maintained enough dignity to turn down an appearance on a “Battle of the ’80s Has-Beens” TV reality show. Sophie Fisher (Drew Barrymore) is a gifted writer with deep inferiority issues who’s been hired to water Fletcher’s plants, and ends up becoming his emergency fill-in lyricist for a song he needs to deliver to teen queen singer Cora (Haley Bennett) in four days.

Despite this contrived “cute meet,” the film, to its great credit, deftly avoids many possible rom-com tropes in favor of organic, character-driven conflicts and comic situations. Alex and Sophie fall in love, struggle over their song, and wrestle with their own respective resistance to romantic happiness, while simultaneously coping with the frustrations of the creative process and the demands of the music industry. The two leads (aided by great comic sidekick turns from Brad Garrett and Kristen Johnston) manage to pull all this off with a lightness of touch that makes the characters’ vulnerability appealing and not pathetic. The original songs by Adam Schlesinger (the go-to guy for singer-songwriter film music) is charming and catchy.

  4. April 16th, 2007 | 22:45

    April 16th, 2007 | 22:50

    why is 1.4 GB better?
    Aren’t they exactly the same?
but maybe a better audio channel? (maybe 5.1 instead stereo)?

Why is a 1.4Gb version better than a 700mb version of the same movie? What kind of dumb question is that? Bigger file size generally translates into bigger (video/audio) encoding bitrate, which is a major quality factor in this particular case of movie encoding. Though I agree that 700mb is pretty tolerable for a ~90 min. release.

will people stop moaning about file size, it’s getting old, if you don’t like 700mb files don’t download them, leave them for people that do…..and there aren’t that many films that deserve 2cds anyway.

    April 17th, 2007 | 04:07

why do they split 1.4gb films into 2 cds?.. why not leave it an 1.4gb file.?!
this question has got nothing to do with this release though :P

Fuck sake, why is it that Hugh Grant is ALWAYS in romantic comedies, playing the bumbling-but-good-hearted-english-chap-who-falls-in-love-with-a-girl-but-fucks-up-the-relationship-somehow-and-they-break-up-only-to-get-back-together-again-at-the-end?
It really gets old after awhile, and worse yet, guys like us are forced to watch this shit generic shit by our girlfriends. At least we get some poontang after the movie….

AAAAAAAAAAArgh another “dvd rip” “proudly presented” with mp3 vbr ;/ is it so hard to encode it with ac3 ???????

  15. April 17th, 2007 | 07:04

this 1,4GB talk was just a joke because of DEiTY group who made a proper of DIAMONDS “Smokin’ Aces”

Thank you -very- much for the Subtitles.
    I really appreciate it.

  17. April 17th, 2007 | 09:13

Its the AC3 sound that makes a difference to me at least… At least that’s a huuge improvement over mp3…

    I won’t bitch anymore.

  18. April 17th, 2007 | 09:43

700 mb versions get more downloads -> more seeders -> more speed -> finish faster :)
    easy as that (f.e. axxo)

But why all the rar-files? ;) … I understand those for usenet, but when sharing the files through bittorrent, one or two big .avi-files are perfect. raring them _increases_ the file size, and then you have to wait for the unraring and waste more space on your harddrive… :/

I’ve found it, the speech was so silent because of the AC3 plugin… It was set up for 5.1 sound, and since my notebook only has 2 speakers, some sound was lost…

BTW, it’s not only this movie… every movie with ac3 gave the silent speach

Download Azureus (google it) and install, click the “torrent” link, it will bring you to newtorrents, all you have to do is click “download this torrent!” and open the .torrent file you download and it should just open in Azureus. Let it download till completion, it should take a few hours, then open the .rar files it downloads with a program like WinRAR, or StuffIt (Mac). To view the video, download VLC (videolan.org) and open the .avi file and enjoy!
