On his major label debut, indie rapper Murs — known for his clever, humorous rhymes about the everyday man — sets out to save hip-hop from senseless debauchery. Yet while the politically charged Murs for President is lyrically sharp, its production zigzags with incongruously corny pop samples (like the Green Hornet theme on ”Lookin’ Fly”). Murs fares best when paired with producer 9th Wonder (Little Brother), whose soulful tracks light fire under Murs’ husky voice. President is patchy, but the consistent ”time to change” message still makes Murs one of rap’s most memorable lyricists
Murs has released several solo records: F’Real (1997), Good Music (1999), MURS Rules the World (2000), Murs is My Best Friend, Varsity Blues, The End of the Beginning (2003), MURS 3:16-The 9th Edition (2004), Murray’s Revenge (2006), and Sweet Lord (2008). He has collaborated with many artists including Shock G, Humpty Hump (of Digital Underground), Slug, Whole Wheat Bread, El-P, Aesop Rock, Cip-One, RJD2, Hieroglyphics, Little Brother & 9th Wonder, E-40, John Cena, Mr. Lif, Jean Grae, Freestyle Fellowship, DJ Z-Trip, Chingo Bling, Shing02 and many more. He also appeared on L.A. metal/hardcore band Terror’s album Always The Hard Way (2006).

Murs is a legend.. shame about the weak snoop and will.i.am tracks on the album.. There’s some nice tracks but it’s nothing on 3:16 and end of the begining

I will download this but buy it when it comes out. I’ve followed Murs and the whole living legends crew since 94 and they are with out a doubt the hardest working people in the music industry. You may not like Hip-Hop but Murs is not your average MC. Anyhow, Thanks and remember to buy it and support Murs when this album does come out.
