MTV and anything related to it is emo and that’s a fact.

It clearly needs to die before it corrupt our children even more. The son of one of my buddy is now a complete wimp because of the MTV emo generation garbage for christ sakes !!!!!

And then people are wondering where all of these whiny hippy are coming from….

Our society is sick i tell ya.

    September 10th, 2007 | 20:02

Hey, nothing’s wrong with MTV cept for the fact that the videos aren’t so diverse any more.
You buddy’s son being a wimp don’t have anything to do with MTV, believe that!
Aneway, Britney looked pregnant an unsure of herself. Clearly she was no where near ready to be back in the limelight.
    But Rhianna!!!………

MTV can’t be emo…they don’t play enough music to be put in a category like that

Is it just me or is the entire music industry becoming increasingly braindead? (I’m particularly referring to mainstream music)

    @ 18

You are completely right my Emperor friend. The music industry has been braindead now since the end of the 90’s in the U.S.

Now all we get is mediocre emo pop stars who are having success because of their looks and not their talent. We also get all of these hip hop “gangsta” wannabes who dresses like they just robbed a jewelery store and thibk that they are “da” shit when in fact they are just a bunch of posers.Metal has also gone down the drain will all of the nu metal garbage. out there.

People , like me , who grew up in the 70’s and 80’s are disgusted by the new MTV emo short attention span all flash no substance generation.

At least Europe still produce some decent bands and thank god for that.

    # 20 ON THE BUTTON!!!! short attention spans. I want to vomit when i see the millescond flashes they call cuts on mtv. it make me friggin dizzy. i couldnt watch mtv for even 15 minutes anymore.

dang, you again Larry on #15. YES, it is creating an entire generation of SISSyS. over sensative, half brain dead, materialistic softies. these young ones are inidated with sidekicks and big macs these days. everybody is gangster but has never been in a fight. everyone is a rapper but know NOTHING about HipHop. everyone is rich but live at home with mommy and daddy.

i’ll be back, i have to go vomit now. *nothing against this post RLS! live performances are CLUTCH. thnx*

MTV has been dead for years.
The music industry has been producing the whole line-up of these awards. I took a quick look at the line-up and I’m pretty sure all these ‘Artist’ can be traced back to only a few mayor record companies.
Companies who refuse to take on the real talent because they believe they can’t sell it to us the customers.
We aren’t the experts in their eyes so we can’t possible know what we are talking about. We want to hear the next boy/girl-band with drummed up music from the production-line. That sells, that brings in the big bucks for them not the artists who put their souls into their music. We are nothing more then cows to milked for its cash.
And MTV??? They just run with it because it brings cash in their pocket. For example. MTV here in the Netherlands shows only a few clips and for the rest of the whole day nothing but ‘Reality TV’.
I spoke once with someone who works at MTV Europe, asked him why they put so much crap on TV here. Why they aren’t putting the artist on who need national, or European, coverage?
It’s a format that brings in the money and nothing more.
If more people watch those shows then the clips why bother airing those clips.
MTV long lost their roots with most of the artist out there.
Go to a local podium and check out the bands who play there and you’ll notice that there’s more talent on stage there than was produced by the Industry in the last 15 years.
When was the first time Britney made a song by herself? Lyrics and music? Without the dance act. Put her on stage with nothing but a guitar and a mic. I’m pretty sure she would suck big time.
Just a dance and a voice doesn’t make you an artist.
Or what about Justin Timberlake? Yes that guy who ripped a C64 Sidtune and called it his own. Check out YouTube for that.
You rip one of his songs, release it as your own and I’m pretty sure you’ll be paying the rest of your life for it.
In short the list of names I recognize aren’t artist but Barbie, and Ken, dolls on stage doing their thing so you’ll cough up your last penny for their album.
And as for children getting dumber by watching this, or follow these artist as lemmings, I only have these questions?
Why are their parent allowing their children to watch this?
Why are they allowing their children to buy this crap?
Maybe because most don’t know what they are doing?
    Already ‘brainwashed’ maybe?
Or maybe the answer is this…Everyone child in their class is buying it and I can’t see my child being the outsider in that group.
To this I can only say this…If every child in that class decides to jump off skyscraper, without a parachute, would you let your child do the same?
I’m pretty sure everyone will go ‘NO!!!’
I made a choice long ago to throw out my TV and only download what I wish to see. And if it’s worth it then buy it. The same goes for music.
And I notice that when I have my little niece here for the weekend that she is forced to do other things besides watching TV all day.
When she goes home again she goes home with a pack of paper under her arms with drawings for everyone.
Guess what…She doesn’t even notice anymore that there’s no TV. No BS to watch.
I can put on music and she’ll listen to it. At times she even asks why that music is never played on the radio.
Enough whining from my side about these crappy ‘Awards’.
And a final reply on posting 23.
    Mate…I’m not old.
I’m still living my life to the fullest and will do so till my last breath. Oh yeah…How long have you been on stage performing? I’m at 14 years now and counting. I even make a decent living of it while you’ll are mastrubating in your parents house and trying to earn a bit of cash by doing a shitty job.

I remember actually wanting to watch the VMA’s, that was back in the late 90’s though, about the time MTV was “dying”. Now with all the crappy music (only being shown at 6am) and the reality shows, I avoid it at all costs.

I have heard that MTV is in reality a brainwashing tool used by the global reptilian elite[they are shapeshifter from another dimension and they have been on our planet for a long time] to soften our children so that they will be easier to break down and reeducate once the new world order of the illuminated ones come. They are dangerous and evil people and they won’t be stopped until all of humanity turn toward our lord Jesus Christ.

EoN, WORD. This is why i listen to metal, cuz its one of few genres left where all artists create their own music, developed from their OWN feelings and experiences. Not to say that there arent great artists out there who play other types of music..

yep like i have been saying for the longest music in general has fallen off like i said rock and it’s sub genres to me is a bit stale to me

hip hop rap whatever you call it it is all cut from the same cloth has been dumbed down indefinably millions of dance songs yea it my be hot but look at your album sales.. how you have number 1 singles but you sell 40k your first week??? Now im no backpacker i like dance songs as much as the next guy but you have to know how to make an album .. guys like common talib kweli jay-z (before the Blue print 2) Nas and so much and so forth are able to have those types of singles but can still put together atleast a decent album.

Rand b fell off when hip hop fell off which is sad because i like r and b music but nowdays it is so close to being pop it is mind boggling.. What happened to artist like patti labelle luther vandross teddy pendergrass… hell the biggest question to me is what happen to R Kelly. He is truly a musical genius but the more and more stuff he is doing nowdays the less i think that he is….now i get he is trying to stay relevant with this generation i have no problem with that… but his last two albums were abysmal..

but o well there are some artist though that are underrated and underground artist that are good….

which is why most the time i dont listen to radio at all right now mp3’s are my best friend when im ridin around

Britney has jumped the shark tank.
But I’d still hit it if I found her in a bar.
Problem is, a little tummy pudge doesn’t work if you’re going to flaunt yer stuff on national TV; ya gotta be ripped.
She still looks good for a ‘neighborhood girl’ but not for HOTHOTHOT pop star.
Maybe we can see her doing MILF videos in the next year or so.
