    Seen lots of programs like this…But there’s always the tried-and-true SoundForge.

    But out of the smaller programs (if you don’t want to install a biggie like SoundForge), what’s the best one on the scene? How does this one compare?

    no. 4 - TY for you different prog link! I have been looking for such an application to change gain of mp3s or trim ending or bad intros etc, without transcoding/recoding.. ty

    Ok so it sounds like MP3DirectCut is about the best choice for a lightweight MP3 editor without transcoding loss…Right? (Wavosaur looked kinda promising too.)

    What about a multi-platform editor; something like this, but one that can transcode across a variety of sources like MP3, OGG, WMA, etc…?

    Or do we pretty much approach SoundForge territory there?
