is this better than movie collector? cause movie collector is pretty good.

it would be nice if these programs automatically d/l links to wiki, RT, & a trailer for every movie….

I use collectorz as well and it works great. It helps me pick out a movie much easier than looking on my hard drive just at the names.

  10. June 13th, 2008 | 23:40

Thanks .DIN. I have used only this app and I’m very happy with it. I hope Croatia wins again…

i actually bought collectorz but have been really unhappy with it’s sorting ability/user interface/etc. been looking for an alternative, but i don’t see how you can automatically scan your HD and enter movies with this program…

Good job running it through VirusTotal… I know that if AVG didn’t suspect anything from a ‘cracked’ file, it’s definitely not a virus.

AVG is REALLY good at detecting cracks and the like; and reporting it as a false positive.

    ****************** ATTENTION ************************

This program CANNOT search your harddrive for movies and automatically download infos and display IMdB ratings…
You have to manually add each movie and the program searches IMDB

all those with movie collector and swear by it…….

why do you like it ?
it doesn’t play the movie straight from the database….

    don’t you find this annoying???

  38. 2nd question
    June 14th, 2008 | 06:59

does anyone know a movie database that:

    a) scans your hard drive, and automatically adds movies
    b) allows you to play the movies from the database… (with a simple play button)

does this one? if not what’s the best ones with these capabilities?

    June 14th, 2008 | 09:47

Movie Collector allows you to link every entry with external fikles.
That way, you get a link in your description that you can use to play the movie.

It doesn’t search your HD for movies and you have to link every movie, one by one.

I think Movie Collector is better than this program (i tried version 2008 & it sucks) so I found alternative, new version of Movie Collector v5.5.3
    http://rapidshare.com/files/122314263/Collectorz.com.Movie.Collector.Pro.v5.5.3-TE.rar
Also i needed something for games & i found Game Collector – great program must try it if you have many games (it even has option to show “Is Game Original”
    Game Collector v2.3.3

Best movie listing software (if youre dvd collector like me and dont care about movies on HD) is dvd profiler 3 by invelos. What makes is the best in my opinion is that when I add movie I get most descriptions etc for my native language (finnish) and works sameway for any other language aswell if user(s) have provided info there. Search works thru EAN-code (found so far 95% of my 1200 original R2 dvds :) or for the rest 5% in my case I managed to find correct “match” to list with just typing name. Piratebay has cracked version for it and it works great but if you want to publish your list on internet then you have to pay for 28 euros or smth like that because the space for “account” where list goes is only available thru registration. Check it out at http://www.invelos.com or stick to collectorz.com movie collector which is the 2nd best and fully working movie listing app available :P (ps. im not working for invelos, i just like to have best and easiest app for listing lot of dvds :x )

  50. I'm So Scared of The Government
    June 14th, 2008 | 15:43

I’m a bit paranoid, OK a lot paranoid. When you connect to their servers, is there a way of them tracing back to your ip? For example, suppose you dl a movie that’s obviously not released yet, ergo, you’re pirating – you know, suspicious activity. Seriously, can the big bad government trace it to you?

    June 14th, 2008 | 17:33
