Motley Crue – Saints Of Los Angeles (2008)
Howdy all! This has been my first release in a while, as the music scene has been pretty dead. At any rate, I have for you Motley Crue’s latest album, Saints of L.A. hot and ready to go [4 days early]. These guys can still rock, the album sounds amazing and it looks pretty promising. The boys in Crue have lived up the their badass reputation and the album could have been dated 1987 … it’s the old Crue (a little aged) but it still sounds like them. Check this out if you love ‘em, and for you youngens who’ve never picked up a record, check this out. Good solid rockin’ at the core. Enjoy!
All the filth and fury of their Eighties heyday, finally funneled into an album Mötley Crüe have created a cottage industry out of rehashing their excesses: Their tales of debauchery have already fueled dozens of books and a standard-bearing episode of Behind the Music. Now they’ve woven those stories into their first album in eight years. Inspired by their 2001 sleazeography, The Dirt, Saints of Los Angeles finds Vince Neil flashing back to the band’s golden age: gigging on the Sunset Strip, snorting powders, screwing the wrong girls and (later) filing lawsuits (the band sued its former manager last year). (More)
Mötley Crüe is an American glam metal/heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1981. The band was founded by bass guitarist Nikki Sixx (who was, at the time, in a band called London) and drummer Tommy Lee, who were later joined by lead guitarist Mick Mars (whom Sixx first met at a liquor store, before they met again through a classified ad) and singer Vince Neil. Mötley Crüe has sold over 72 million album copies worldwide, including 25 million copies in the US alone. The band has often been noted for their hard-living lifestyles; all members have had numerous brushes with the law, spent time in jail, suffered long addictions to alcohol and drugs, had countless escapades with women, and are heavily tattooed.

OMG! Is this thing still alive?
This, Poison and every remaining of glam rock should be buried. This type of sound is a disgrace when associated with the word rock…
I’m an old 80’s rocker first Judas and now this… The music God has awakened!

@6 my sentiments exactly
Just like GNR, what a horror show (best show was when they get boo’d off the stage). Glad Crue had a fun time showing off the big hair and spandex in the 80’s, that’s where they excelled, they were trendy and fit the LA scene. Nowadays, they are just a nighmare, an embarrassment to the industry as a whole. You have Vince, who’s fat and age has not done him well, he can’t sing worth a damn (live) anymore (if he ever could) and is just so sad and pathetic to see on stage.
Sixx, who’s lucky to be on two feet (I will not joke about his disease but he is done as a musician) is a great guy but needs heavy medication just to stand still and play a set.
Mick Mars, still has some talent but the days of metal bands looking cool for drinking like fish and partying are loooong gone. Get rid of the trendy 80’s look and you have nothing left in Mars. Nobody that is doing well today can live the life of the 80’s.
Tommy Lee, an entertaining drummer, though not one of the best by any means. He’s a showman, has little dedication or interest in the band and it shows in their live performances. The tension between Vince and the rest of the band will never be hidden, it is just a bad mix of old men making a few more bucks before they pass, because they partied it all away when they actually were a good band.
Roll over and die now please, don’t ruin what yuo once were.
As for #7, the old rocker that likes the new Priest Album (who couldn’t like that piece of work?!), these two cannot be compared. One is a talent that survived long before and long after Crue, one band actually has creativity still, one band actually kept touring and didn’t fold, reunite, fold reunite etc.
One band started it all and they will be around when it ends, Priest, well done!
(Before the flames begin, I didn’t mention Maiden because they were not focused on here)
not really my type of music but i heard the song saint of los angeles the other day and said to a guy i know, that sounds like motley crue and he said no its some new band, but i like them. its funny it was motley crue and they didnt sound half bad for old men.
@9 what are you on you talk about nikky sixx and his disease thats mick marrs you idiot also i went to see motley crue with my wife and didnt want to go as i was into more death/thrash metal and they blew me away now i listen to them without feeling guilty. an embarrassment to the industry as a whole?come on what do you do just sit at a computer slaging everyone off

@14: We don’t just post rap or metal. There have been several posts of other genres. Right now, it’s been kind of dead after a big push a couple of weeks ago.
Crue have been going since 1980s. The fact they are still going proves they are god damn awesome.
Hardcore Superstar, Crashdiet, Dirty Penny, Peppermint Creeps, Hollywood Killerz, Damaged Dolls, Robin Black.. theres so many nu-school glam/sleaze bands coming out its unreal. The scene is still alive. Woop.
@11 – If mixing up two members of a washed up band makes one an idiot, what does that make the person who corrected him and defended this great band while spelling two of their names wrong? Nikki is spelled with an I not a T, and Mars only has one S….idiot. Plus this has nothing to do with whether you like thrash, black, pop or glam metal, I don’ tgive a rats arse who you like or not. Why don’t you comment on the release instead of the posts? That’s pathetic.
Anyway, what makes you feel that your comment is important and warranted, while mine is worthy of your BS kiddie flames? Sorry, but I though we were pretty much free to offer any opinion, whether for or against something. I think it is up to rlslog as to what they do or do not allow on their website.
As for Crue(I know first hand as I work in the industry directly), exactly which bridges they have burned and who’s eyes they tried to pull the wool over. As far as the industry is concerned, they are a joke that has been blacklisted. Most promoters and labels wouldn’t touch them with a 50′ pole.
There have been many bands from the 80’s that kept going, payed their dues and deserve the following they have today, bands that didn’t get airtime, bands that didn’t try to sue the wrong people because they were prima donnas, bands that actually have talent and it shows that they are a band when on stage, not a bunch of feuding pu$$ies trying to make some midlife crisis money to stay alive.
Want a band that has endured the test of time?
Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, Helloween (yay Kai Hansen!)Scorpions etc., there’s a lot of talent without rahashing old L.A. pop-metal bands that are just out of rehab.
All still alive and well, though they haven’t done much in North America due to a trendy scene that changes by the week, they have still been hackign away at all the European festivals, we get lots of festivals here, at least they get OzzFest in North America to let them see what a festival COULD be like.
Make that one R not one S, but it gives that drew13 tool something to cry about.
“…as the music scene has been pretty dead.”
I strongly, but respectfully, disagree. It just seems that the tastes of the staff doesn’t fit the tastes of the masses. There has been no real shortage of new music, just a lack of it being posted here. Can’t speak for the “scene”, or if there has been much going on with that, but I’ve experienced no personal shortage in the music release department.

Its cool that these guys are still around
to everyone questioning the posts here, could it be that they only post SCENE released music and not p2p? i could be completely wrong as i am mostly a hip hop and rnb head, but it seems as though most music kinda just pops up, where as the movies are released from specific groups with hook ups, but like i said i could be completely wrong.

I hear what you’re saying, da truth. And I’m not too sure how that works either.
That said, I doubt it would hurt much, or offend anyone around here, if the music was posted whether or not it is ripped by the scene. The recent guest input was mainly personal choices from wherever they could be gathered, and I really appreciated that input. Might actually be a good thing to have guest posts, either directly or by suggestion. Particularly when things get “slow”.
Can’t hurt to make constructive suggestions, especially when they’re accompanied by potential solutions to a perceived problem or issue. I appreciate the post whether or not they’re something I’m personally into. To me, it’s the more music, the better things get.
Thanks Prezdead, Chinballs, Ertunc, Over and the rest who take the time to post up the tunes. You’re all doing a great job at adding a pretty wide variety of material. Keep it up!
Kick arse music!
yeah! the Crue rocks!
@ 5 John ,r u kidding me?
“Too fast for Love” was an outrageously good album. Name an album that has that much raw energy AND was produced in/around 1981! For crying out loud you must be some tight shirt wearing, EMO, metro sexual ass klown.

fast link to get this!
What is lame is that true fans of motley crue are buying the edited version of this album and uploading it. True fans buy explicit no matter what. Once I get the true explicit version of album I am doing a massive upload everywhere lol.
