Most popular ways to kill your PC
Computers should be essentially immortal right? They are just a collection of circuits and signals, and as long as power flows to them, they should continue to operate; there’s nothing to break down, nothing to age… uh-huh. Anyone who’s ever owned a computer knows that this is not quite true. This is how does quite an interesting article starts at PC Stats describing the most common reasons why computers die.
Computers and their component parts do have a finite life span, and just like us, they have a list of afflictions that are most likely to claim their digital existences. Also just like us, most of these problems stem from careless handling, neglect, unhealthy environments and old age. Toss careless manufacturing into the mix, and you can see why the average computer system rarely survives more than ten years without some sort of catastrophic failure.
I’m also wondering, why so many people in my surroundings experience problems with computers - I’ve built many computers on my own and all of them are very stable, running for years without bigger issues. I had only a problem with PSU once, but it was simply cheap piece of crap, replacing it made the trick…
Most Common Problems
26% PSU and power issues
23% Bad gear and user negligence
13% Heatsink related
15% Assembly and moving
10% Lightning strike and static
3% Computer cruelty
6% USB related
2% Overclocking

This article states every reason I can think of and then some for why I NEVER let anyone touch my computer. And people think I’m just an asshole.
99% of the people in this world are just plain stupid and should be treated as such.
I find quite a high number of failures tend to be Hard disk related, especially in laptops. the controller dies or the motor in the hard disk dies, one or the other.
yeah, laptops are quite specific category, HDD failures are there much more common than in normal computers…
I have a amd64 pc with a cheap crap case etc.. I popped the side of so It cooles better and i can look inside now.
when I start this thing it sounds like a moterbike, brrroomm brroomm I hear and I have to lay my hand on it so it wont shake to much .anyways I always check the smell ,I you smell smoke you know you have to change some parts,in the summer I putt the airco that is made to cool outside rooms like gardens etc..(the big box) and putt it next to my pc wich cooles it down.

you are an idiot leaves the side open lmao
that makes it hotter depending on the breathing room in your pc
the fans will not focus the air to the according heat syncs
p.s. all your shit will get covered in dust thus making everything more hotter lmao
That’s why it’s smart to upgrade your computer parts as necessary. Especially the Hard Drives.
