85% of windows users might use IE. However statistics are highly damaged because at certain enviroments the only browser you can use (cannot install else) is IE. Or using IE as secondary browser will be also counted.

And there are much more ppl not using IE: Mac, Linux users, mobile phone users.

All this talk about Firefox and Safari..

The fact is that 85-90% of the computer world still uses IE, weather you like it, or not.

Glad they are improbing it.

To the guy that wants the UK not to be able to monitor him, get Xb Browser. It is basically Firefox with both adblock and noscript preconfigured. The free version uses the TOR network so your ISP and the nasty bods in the government cant see what you are browsing. It is slightly slower than using native Firefox but is fine for general browsing and web based email and the like. If you want to be able to do more you can also sign up for one of their VPN accounts which gives you all the same privacy benefits of TOR but has faster browsing, downloads, streaming video and everything else you are used to on your unencrypted connection. Another advantage of signing up for the VPN account is that everything you do online (not just using the browser but things like torrent downloads, MSN convos etc.) all goes through the encrypted VPN connection so you also avoid traffic shaping by your ISP and monitoring by the likes of the MPAA and the BPI because your actual IP address is also hidden.

@13, yeh but look who won that war. despite its supposed mediocrity, IE is still around.

hasnt firefox had this for a while? in tools/options/privacy there is an option to clear private data at the end of a session.
