Ministry-Rio Grande Dub (2007)

Yet another metal music band comes with their new album. An American band Ministry was founded back in 1981 but remained known only to metal community – in other words, this is and industrial metal, not some commercial music you’ll listen three times a day at your favourite radio station. The album is comprised of remixes from the band’s 2006 album Rio Grande Blood.

Having finished with major labels, Al Jourgensen recently formed a new record label, “13th Planet Records”, with worldwide distribution via noted metal label Megaforce in North America and Soulfood Distribution internationally. In the midst of a vitally prolific stage of his career, Jourgensen has also reformed the Revolting Cocks with a new line-up and a new record, and is set up for a world tour with both bands this spring and summer, lovingly titled “MastabaTouR”.

As Jourgensen prepares for a world tour he has assembled an impressive line-up of musicians to bring this monster to life. Killing Joke bassist Paul Raven, Prong guitarist Tommy Victor, long-time Ministry axe-virtuoso Mike Scaccia, keyboardist John Bechdel (Fear Factory, Prong, Killing Joke) and drummer Joey Jordison. With a renewed D.I.Y. devotion to his music and a burning angst toward the outrageous geo-political nation-building and nation-destroying agenda of the Bush administration, Al Jourgensen returns to advance his new world order: prolific, unbowed, and restless. Anger never sounded so good.

Al Jourgensen kicks much ass, from Ministry to the Revolting Cocks, Pigface and a myriad of other side projects, his lyrics and hard driving beats pack a punch. I still listen to thier first release “With Sympathy” from time to time, back when they were in thier new wave, big hair phase. Ah, the 80’s, gotta love it.

looking forward to listen Sr peligro
“The track “Señor Peligro” appears to come out in support of Hugo Chávez – the President of Venezuela – against the U.S. government: “Señor Peligro” is Spanish for “Mr. Danger”, a nickname that Chávez uses for Bush.”

Yeah, right when I read this (About 4 – 5 hours ago) I check OiNK and they had it. I grabbed it and uploaded it to NewTorrents, it still hasn’t been put up. So I’ve come to the conclusion that NewTorrents = Shit.

This is not really a new album, just a remix of their previous one, Rio grande blood.

    But I’ll get it anyways

Mmmm, haven’t heard anything of theirs in years – my bro gave me a copy of ‘Land of Rape and Honey’ on audio cassette fucking yeeeeaaaars ago. Was good stuff tho, used to listen to it a lot, remember the title track having samples from ‘Platoon’ and shit.

Will give this a shotty, for nostalgia’s sake!

“An American band Ministry was founded back in 1981 but remained known only to metal community”

I’m sorry but that’s dead wrong. The industrial scene in Chicago (i.e. Waxx Traxx) was not metal. It was nowhere near metal as it was thought of back then. The band only became metal when the mind is a terrible thing to taste came out but still that wasn’t accepted by the metal community back when it first hit. Before then they were, for lack of a better genre, ‘new wave industrial dance music’ and had a big hit with “Every Day Is Halloween” which was in a MGD beer commercial.

Getting sick of this anti-Bush music, it’s starting to bore me. Will pass.
