Generally, as a music poster here, I post what I like.  I can’t say I love everything I’ve posted, but if it’s a post by me, you can usually assume that I have at least listened to it.  This post… I cannot make that claim.  I saw it around, and knew there’d be an audience for it, but quite frankly, that audience is not me.  I figured it was a major enough release that it warranted a post, however, and so here it is.

Miley Ray Cyrus (born Destiny Hope Cyrus; November 23, 1992), better known by her stage name Miley Cyrus, is an American teen actress, singer, and songwriter. Cyrus is known for starring as Miley Stewart/”Hannah Montana” in the television series Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel.  Cyrus became an overnight sensation after Hannah Montana debuted in March 2006. Following the success of the show, in October 2006, a soundtrack CD was released in which she sang eight songs from the show. In December 2007, she was ranked #17 in the list of Forbes Top twenty earners under 25 with an annual earning of US$3.5 million. As of December 2007, she is working on a movie spin-off of Hannah Montana, titled Hannah Montana: The Movie which is due to be released on May 1, 2009.

    The smart, intelligent, human side of me says…

    Miley Cyrus has got a little over 2 years before she turns 18 and when she turns legal, her popularity among tweens will burn out faster than a burning Hindenberg and we’ll never hear about Hannah Montana ever again…

    Notice how nearly all the songs are 3:33 or just under? That was rated the perfect time for radio hits by radio stations.

    Its sad that American’s music “talent” is so manufactured. No one is taking risks anymore, its all sugar coated American Idol garbage.

    Where’s the Queen, David Bowie, Black Sabbath, Venom? Doesn’t anyone take chances in music these days?

    @ 109, why take chances when the “sugar coated American Idol garbage” works so well? They’re afraid to take risks because they are afraid of losing money. Company introduces something new, and it flops (or even if it doesn’t achieve the numbers wanted), they’re in trouble.

    Also this should be nuked for:
    hannah.montana.banned.by.scene.enough.disney.already :P

    this kid is NOT HOT. she’s only “hot” because that’s how disney made her out to be. she’s not even attractive!!! just look at her! she’s got a decent (note: i said ‘decent’, not ‘good’) body, but her face is a mess. and what the h3LL is wrong with the way she speaks? she sounds like she has a fist-sized chewing gum in her mouth everytime she speaks.

    britney spears was incredibly hot when she started out.
    miley cyrus isn’t – and NEVER will be hot. she’s the beginning of the end of the world. mark my word.
