Nobody yet has mentioned this here:
- You CANNOT slipstream this to an original XP disc
- Service Pack 1 is mandatory before this is installed
- Service Pack 2 is recommended, but not required
You would have to slipstream this onto a disc that already has SP1 or SP2 on it.
Will this work with SP2 Student Edition which the license key is always genuine?

I was about to reformat then I checked my regular sites and wouldn’t you know it. I see SP3 Final and go well hell… now I have to rebuild the OS with this updated one.
SP2 comes with sp1 so don’t have a heart attack. I slipstream sp2 and then sp2 and the beta’s ran really good better than the crappy sp2. The system never felt right, but with sp3 it kicks ass now.

i got my version awhile ago but it was beta with the slipstreamed sata drives as i had pre installed vista which i didnt like, had trouble it finding my soundcard drivers but after a search about i fixed it. works great now but then i dont notice any faster speed as im using quad core so it was fast to start with.

I use Vista and it works fine. Only we changed Vista to iVista everywhere we could.
I installed it yesterday and that system is at least 10% more responsive.

can slipstream this for themselves if they want to, instead of re-grabbing the whole XP iso pre-loaded with it. It won’t
take long, just use corp with (SP2) to be on the safe side, and begin the compilation process. But still… keep your SP2
disc around just in case something creeps up, like all M$ crap *cough*Visual Studio 2008*cough* has always been. (incompatible drivers, dogging network, who knows…) Good Luck and thanks again.

when i installed sp3, and the system restarted, i got 2 cmd windows popping up…and one of them had multiple lines of ‘ERROR: the parameter is incorrect”. then they both disappeared. i’m guessing that’s not normal?

there never will be an XP x64 SP3
x64 uses the server 2003 code base and can be updated with the server 2003 x64 SP2 build from about 6 months ago iirc!

i downloaded 98 percent of this in 10 minutes now i have been stuck at 98% for 15 hours.please seed this. or dont bother downloading this until you see it seeded at 100% a waste of time.
It doesn’t give you a language option, so I believe it’s only english. I installed this and now FireFox won’t connect and I REALLY REALLY don;t want to be stuck using IE…anyone having this problem?

I’ve downloaded the RS links of this topic. I installed my WinXP Sp2 Student Corporate Edition and slipstream this sp3.
Really recommend making your own window install with nlite and slipstreaming service packs and drivers. You can make installation unattended, reinstalling windows is almost painless.

I will say that there is a very noticeable difference in system speed. A difference for the better….
Also, as a note to those using the UXTheme multi-patch: This SP will overwrite the patch. You will NOT be able to use custom themes or repatch using the old patcher. This made me angry so I modified it to work in SP3.

the error comes because you’ve customised the windows startup (changed the screens or something..):
“This behavior may occur if the computer has a modified version of the Ntoskrnl.exe file that uses the /KERNEL switch in the Boot.ini file.
